Vetted floral resources + supportive community for florists

We got asked last week: “How comprehensive are the resources in BTCO?”

Here’s how I think about it (which informed how we built it)…we’re not trying to be the most comprehensive resource list you can find. We’re trying to be the most trustworthy one.

BTCO is more like a specialty boutique than a retail supercenter. You’ll see resource options, but not so many that you’re left sorting and digging through tons of stuff to find what you need. We’ve already narrowed it down to a handful of choices that real florists use and find helpful.

We choose trustworthy over exhaustive every time. 💛 by @bloomtrustco

We’ve had amazing florists join us in BTCO this week. No surprise that every one of them brings something unique. A different business model, a different city, personal experiences that inform their work. We can’t wait to get to know every single story. That’s exactly what makes BTCO what it is.

We’re not chasing big numbers. We never have been. It’s more important to us that we welcome florists who are looking for resources and a community like the one we’re building. It might be a good fit for you if:

🌿You value your sanity as much as your sales
🌿Your family matters more than your business goals
🌿You’re thinking about the legacy you want to build, not just your next order.

That’s who BTCO is built for. Does that sound like you? by @bloomtrustco

Seven BTCO members. Seven florists. Seven completely different business models. Zero of them following “the one right way.”

If you’ve been quietly building something that doesn’t look like everyone else’s version of success, we hope this reminds you: there should be as many flower business models as there are florists!

We’d love to support and encourage you as you build your one-of-a kind business.✨ by @bloomtrustco

We’re not chasing large numbers. We want to know your name and understand how your business is unique.

✨We’re hoping for florists who understand what we’re about and have similar commitments to impacting their communities through flowers.

✨And we’re hoping for generous and encouraging florists who value collective learning alongside floral colleagues.

If that’s you, we’d love to have you join us! by @bloomtrustco

Founding BTCO member Annie @sassevilleflorals posted her cafe au lait dahlias last week and I haven’t stopped thinking about them!

Annie’s been a part of BTCO since the start - nearly 6 years! And I can honestly say BTCO is what it is today because of our founding members who have helped guide this ship with patience and passion for our craft (and community!).

Over those six years, Annie’s grown her business— refining her mission, perfecting her skills, taking on a new business name that reflects who she’s becoming. And all the while she’s served her community along the way.

This is what we’re about at BTCO. Building businesses that reflect our individuality, supporting our communities, and encouraging one another.

So grateful for you, Annie! And, dang you sure can grow some crazy good flowers! ✨💛 by @bloomtrustco

If you know someone running a flower business solo (no team, no shop partner, no one to talk through a hard day), tag them.

They’re doing hard work...alone! And they’re impacting their community through the power of flowers. We want to recognize them!

They may not let on how hard it is (because who would really understand, right?), but you know and we know how hard it is.

You seeing them is the thing they might need most today. And we’re right behind you!

Years ago, @hollychapple called me with the excitement in her voice that always signaled something big was about to happen.

“I want to buy a farm” she said in a quiet voice as if she were revealing a deeply held secret that she already knew was on the way to becoming a reality.

She’d seen this farm and it was calling her.

Not long after, she moved mountains to purchase what would become @hopeflowerfarm - the home of the first flower festival of its kind called @flowerstockathope, meaningful @chapeldesigners workshops, and a floral fashion show in the dairy barn supporting pediatric cancer nonprofits Along Comes Hope and Team Mathias. I still think about that event and find encouragement in it to this day.

Holly has accomplished so much, but she’s always the first to use her flowers to Flower with Purpose and make a deep and lasting impact.

She’s coming to our BTCO member meetup on September 22 at 2pm central. You don’t want to miss this time with her. You’d be hard pressed to find a more straight-shooting and compassionate floral educator. Hope you’ll join us!

Details are in this week’s newsletter.

DATE: September 22, 2026
TIME: 2-3pm Central Time
WHERE: on Zoom
WHO: for BTCO members

@hollychapple has spent over 30 years building a floral career most of us only dream about. She’s:

🌿a wedding + event florist
🌿owner of @hopeflowerfarm, a flower farm and winery in Virginia
🌿founder of @chapeldesigners and @flowerstockathope
🌿visionary and namesake for a product line @syndicatesales
🌿author of A Life in Flowers: Lessons & Affirmations from the Garden
🌿namesake of Princess Holly’s Hope rose @alexandrafarms
🌿mother of 7

She’s seen the industry shift more times than some of us have been in business, and she’s still here, still growing, still doing it her way.

This meetup isn’t a lecture. It’s an open floor. Bring your question — about pricing, about scaling, about burnout, about dreaming big, about whatever it is that actually matters to you. Holly will answer it honestly, the way she always has, because encouraging other florists has been part of her business model since long before it was trendy.

Details are in this week’s newsletter! See you there✨

This might surprise you.

I don’t think about how to make your next arrangement more beautiful.

That work is essential — and there are incredible teachers doing it.

My thoughts are different: the practical tools and the psychology behind building a flower business that doesn’t cost you your life.

I’ve received emails from florists for years expressing the fears and regrets they have over time spent absent from their own life while consumed by the business.

I’ve done it myself. I missed my husband’s PhD graduation ceremony because I had a wedding that was contracted more than a year before the graduation date was even announced. My mom took our sons to the graduation. I still have regrets about missing such an important day.

I want you to love your business and love this craft.

I just don’t want either one to cost you your health, your relationships, or the moments you can’t get back.

That’s what I build for — whether it’s a free resource, a deep dive with a small group of florists, a podcast, or a floral resource community. The format changes. That focus never changes.🤍 by @bloomtrustco

Happy Labor Day!

BTCO member Kei @lewisfloralevents captures the essence of today:

“Floral design is an intense artistry.

It’s hours on your feet… on the floor… adjusting, rebuilding, and refining—until every stem is exactly where it needs to be.

It’s more than just playing with flowers.
Although those moments of play are when I feel most alive.”

Keep Flowering with Purpose, y’all! xoxo

If this feels like your normal, you should know that we built BTCO to counter these “parts of the job”.

You don’t have to keep running into the same walls over and over.

There’s a community of florists who are walking the fine line together - providing beautiful florals for clients, impacting their communities, and realizing their dreams of flower business ownership while ALSO learning to be present with their families and honor their own wellbeing.
