I haven’t done nearly enough bragging about my incredible Evelyn cosplay on here. It’s partially because the neon doesn’t super fit with the aesthetic of the rest of my feed and I’m just slightly neurotic about managing that but! We’ve got pink going on for February so y’all get to see some more Evelyn. ‎It’s funny because at this point I still haven’t played the game this character is from, and I’m not sure I will for quite some time! A buggy as hell release leaves a lot to be desired. But the aesthetic is absolutely incredible and I’m still so proud of the work I did to bring this cosplay together- and how damn good I look in this dress! ‎I have some plans for what my next cosplay would be, but what I really love about this is how each piece of the outfit- from the coat to the boots to the dress- are all things that I could feasibly wear in everyday life. As opposed to armor made out of plastic or a printed jumpsuit, this is just a really cool outfit that someone who is not me could wear, and putting myself into new shoes was such a cool experience. We shot my latest cosplay on a very cold evening in early March (like below 40F 🥶) and @danakaephoto delivered the finals to me on the anniversary of the release date WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING which is just the perfect kind of kismet 🥰 ‎It’s funny how cosplaying Leeloo felt perfectly fine, vs cosplaying a character I love from a romantic comedy and not like, sci-fi or fantasy or anime feels.. it feels less deserving of the word “cosplay” no matter how much effort or love I put into it, merely because of the genre the character is from, and I don’t love that! The coolest thing about cosplay to me is the characters and stories that we’ve fallen so in love with we want to become them, spend the time and energy inserting ourselves into the narrative- and romance has always been so precious to me! I’ve been wanting to do a spider suit cosplay of Gwen Stacy’s spider woman ever since the comic first came out (I already sold my first appearance, sorry!) but there was a part of me that was too insecure in my body to put on a skin tight spandex suit 🫣 it was seeing so many incredible women do it before me and look like they were having so much fun that inspired me to stop waiting to be perfect and just be- her 🕸️ ‎ Thank you to @jupiter.creative for selling me your suit and shoes, and to @dariendhester for being so incredibly down to find a rooftop in NYC and make this happen!! ‎ Ofc the question now is: what role is Sadie Sink playing in the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie?? Definitely not at all being sarcastic, definitely not at all manifesting 🫣 ‎ One of my favorite parts about faire is meeting new people and being inspired by all the amazingly creative outfits! I met @booksandballgowns & @a.j_cos at Washington Faire last weekend and they were so immediately gung ho to participate in my admittedly very funny idea for a reel. When I get my hair dyed (and we’re not doing deep deep navy lol) I always ask for the blue/periwinkle blend of hydrangeas, and so ofc when I saw the location @amberrosemcconnellbu & I were shooting at had these gorgeous bushes, I knew I had to find the outfit to match- and boy did this sample sale Angela dress work perfectly!! The sheen is even more lustrous in real life if you can imagine 🥰 ‎ I know a bunch of new folks have followed me for my ren faire stuff, and do not worry! There’s at least four more weeks of faire content coming this summer, but I like to mix my genres sometimes! Don’t forget, you can shift over to the “reels” tab as I hide quite a few from my main feed after posting 🫣 I know technically we can adjust the feed order now but I’m still so neurotic about trying to blend the colors of my posts so it feels nice ☺️ ‎ 📸 @amberrosemcconnellbu taken in Portland, Oregon by @bluejay

Patiently waiting for the live-action Spider-Gwen (I know I know it’s “Ghost-Spider” or something) but until then!! I’ll become her! ‎ It’s kind of crazy to have witnessed the “birth” of this iteration of the character. I was working in a comic book store when it came out. I already sold my first appearance, but I have tons and tons of variants because I loved all the art of her I could get. My natural hair color is the same sunshine blonde as Gwen Stacy, and with my bangs she was one of the easiest and first cosplays I tried! Before I considered myself a “cosplayer” at all. I remember painting the soles of my converse and going up to @robbirodriguez at a convention wearing a zip up hoodie with her costume print on it (that I still own). She will always have a place in my heart even though I’m no longer keeping up with her in the comics! ‎ Looking forward to the new live action spiderman movie! Things I appreciate in a woman: soft skin, a fab fashion sense, and she invites me to take hot pics at the beach 🏖️ ‎ ‎ I always have such a lovely time with @harlikane and this time was no exception! Living my fairytale princess dreams at the @oregonfaire this weekend!
