Blueland was founded by a mom, for moms, when our CEO and Co-Founder, @spaiji, discovered the water she used to mix her son’s formula was contaminated with microplastics. She set out to reduce her family’s plastic exposure, and from there Blueland was born—a company on a mission to create safe, sustainable alternatives to the plastic products we use in our home every day.  Most traditional cleaners are over 90% water and come packaged in single-use plastic. At Blueland, we’ve reimagined this with concentrated, plastic-free cleaning tablets wrapped in industrially compostable paper, made with certified clean, effective ingredients. Sustainability made simple with plastic-free formulas✨ In the earliest days of building Blueland, we realized that single-use plastic packaging is prevalent in the cleaning products industry because so many of the formulas are liquid. For example, traditional cleaning sprays are often over 90% water. We wondered if we could make products in dry formats, which would allow us to package them in industrially compostable paper.  We couldn’t be more proud to offer a range of cleaning products in tablet and powder forms. We’ve removed water from our formulations resulting in smaller, lighter products that not only eliminate the need for single-use plastic packaging, but also drastically reduce the carbon footprint of shipping these products 🤝🌎 by @blueland

At this point, laundry is basically part of my training schedule 😂 Between running, teaching, getting outside, and everything in between, there is ALWAYS another load waiting for me…

Many bottled waters contain microplastics because the plastic breaks down and seeps into your drink (think about the tiny particles that come off the plastic cap every time you twist open a new bottle!). Switching to reusable bottles is one of the easiest ways to limit microplastic exposure. 💧

Volunteering to clean up the mess we pass every day in NYC 🚮 Comment where we should clean next + if you want to join us 💬

Last week, Team Blueland spent an optional volunteer day cleaning up the coastline at @brooklynbridgepark. In just two hours, we collected over 90 lbs of trash 🗑️

We sorted and documented what we found to contribute our data to Ocean Conservancy, whose global cleanup database helps researchers and advocates better understand and tackle marine debris and plastic pollution.
