In Loving Memory, Pope Francis: 1936 - 2025

I am truly blessed to have had the remarkable opportunity to meet the Holy Father on two unforgettable occasions, each marking distinct phases of my spiritual journey. The first was during my university exchange programme in 2018, when I had the privilege to visit Vatican City. Standing amidst the grandeur of St. Peter’s Basilica and the vast expanse of St. Peter’s Square, I felt a profound sense of reverence. Meeting the Holy Father in this sacred setting, surrounded by centuries of rich history and tradition, was both humbling and uplifting. I was blessed with the chance to shake the Pope’s hand and receive his heartfelt blessing, an encounter that deepened my connection to my faith and sowed the seeds for a more conscious spiritual path.

Years later, during His recent apostolic journey to Singapore last year, I experienced a second, equally profound encounter. This spiritually enriching event was marked by moments of reflection and connection with fellow believers, set against the familiar backdrop of my homeland. Witnessing His presence in Singapore reaffirmed the growth I had undergone since my first meeting with Him. Once again, I was honoured to shake the Pope’s hand and receive his blessing. This time, however, the blessing resonated even more deeply, acting as a reaffirmation of the faith and values that had matured within me over the years.

May eternal rest grant unto Pope Francis O lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen by @blueloony
