Another task we’re starting on the farm in the next couple of weeks is propagating our hydrangeas.

Do we have room for more hydrangeas? No.
Do we need any more hydrangeas? No.

Am I still going to propagate as many as possible in the hopes of planting them somewhere in the future…

Yes. Yes, I am. 🤣

I mean, how could I not? Right?
I know you’d agree 🤭🌷 by @blumeestate_

BLUME ESTATE
Where flowers & gardens grow. ✨

After six years of building Little Lyndoch Flower Farm, we’re incredibly excited to share the next chapter of our story.

The word Blume, the German word for flower, is a little nod to the heritage of our new farm, while also honouring the Bloom brand we’ve built and look forward to expanding in the seasons to come.

The word Estate, because this new chapter will become so much more than a flower farm. We have so many dreams for this beautiful property, and we can’t wait to bring them to life.

We hope to create a destination not only for flowers, but for education, experiences, creativity and connection.

A special place where we can share our love of flowers and gardens with our community in ways we’ve only ever dreamed about.

We are forever grateful for every single person who has cheered us on, supported us and helped us grow into who we are today.

Welcome to the next chapter in our story.

Propagating hydrangeas is one of the simplest (and most rewarding) ways to grow your garden.

Here’s how you can multiply your plants…

🪴 Choose a healthy stem around 10- 15cm long with no blooms.

🪴 Snip just below a node (that’s where the leaf meets the stem). Try to find a stem with at least two sets of leaf nodes.

🪴 Remove the lower leaves, so the energy goes into forming roots.

🪴Dip your cutting into a hormone gel or powder and gently press into damp seed raising mix.

🪴Place in a greenhouse or cover to create a little humidity or in indirect light and keep the soil lightly moist.

In 3-4 weeks you’ll start to see roots forming, and before long you’ll have a brand new hydrangea plant ready to thrive!

I hope this video gives you the confidence to give propagating hydrangeas a go.

Save this video to refer to when you’re in the garden!🌷 by @blumeestate_

10 years ago, Rob and I were sitting at an empty desk with very little money, absolutely no idea what we were doing, but so much belief in what we could create together.

Looking back at everything we’ve experienced over the past decade makes me feel incredibly grateful.

We’ve taken risks, made mistakes, celebrated some incredible wins and had moments where we genuinely didn’t know how we were going to move forward.

We’ve started businesses, changed direction, learnt new skills and built things we once only dreamed about.

And now, here we are at Blume Estate, starting another chapter and learning so many new things all over again!

I think one of the biggest lessons I’ve learnt over the past 10 years is that building something meaningful takes time. And it’s so important to enjoy the process rather than constantly focusing on where you want to be.

Whether you’re growing a garden, starting a business or working towards something you’ve been dreaming about for years, please don’t underestimate what you can achieve by simply continuing to show up, learn and give things a go.

And to everyone who’s followed along, encouraged us, supported our businesses or been part of our journey in any way, thank you. You’ve played such a big part in helping us get here.

Here’s to the next 10 years, all the lessons still to learn and sharing every step of the journey with you! 🥹🩷 by @blumeestate_

So much has changed on our farm this week! 😆🚜

We started with an empty paddock, spent the next few days slashing, two days measuring and mapping everything out, and then finally tilled the soil for our brand new flower field! 💐🌸

Seeing it all come together on this scale has been incredibly exciting! We’ve even made a start on our pick your own flower garden, which is another part of the farm we cannot wait to share with you.💫 by @blumeestate_

We finished mapping out our brand new flower field today! 🥹🌸

It feels a little surreal seeing the field mapped out at this scale. After months of planning, it’s so exciting to finally see everything starting to take shape.

Next on the list is measuring out our dahlia rows and forming the garden beds, ready for compost!

We’re so excited for this next chapter, and even more excited that we get to share the journey with you.

We also wanted to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has been messaging us with so much encouragement and support. It certainly doesn’t go unnoticed, and we appreciate every single one of you cheering us on along the way.

We cannot wait for the day we get to share a little piece of Blume Estate with you. 💫 by @blumeestate_

For those of you who have been following us from the very beginning, thank you for being part of our community. 🤍

You’ve watched our little flower farm grow and change over the years, and now we get to take you along for our biggest chapter yet.

And if you’ve only just found us, welcome! We’re so excited to have you here.

We hope that by sharing our journey, we might inspire you to spend a little more time in your garden, try growing something new, or finally give that idea you’ve been thinking about a go.

There is so many exciting projects ahead, and we can’t wait to share this next adventure with you.

Feeling all the feels as we start to lock in our plans for Blume 2027! 🌸

There’s something pretty special about bringing a group of people together who all share a love of flowers.

For three days we create together, talk flower farming, floristry, creativity and business, share beautiful food around the table and have plenty of conversations in between.

You don’t need to be a florist.
You don’t need to be a flower farmer.
And you certainly don’t need to have it all figured out.

You just need to love flowers, creating and learning alongside like minded people.

Blume 2027 will be held here at our new home, Blume Estate, and I think that makes this next chapter feel even more special. 💫 by @blumeestate_

Today, we finished marking out our new flower field and started tilling the soil.

I jumped up and down with excitement when I saw the outline from the sky and burst into tears a few times.

Seeing the sheer scale of what we’re about to create was overwhelming and incredibly beautiful, all at the same time.

I had a moment where I got nervous but I stopped and remembered one of my favourite quotes…

“A ship in harbour is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.”

And I think that perfectly sums up this chapter of our lives.

Stepping outside our comfort zone, taking a chance on something we believe in and having the courage to see where it takes us. 💫 by @blumeestate_

Your journey will be full of firsts…

The first time digging into the soil.
The first time planting a seed and watching it grow.
The first time getting it wrong and learning from it.
The first time stepping back and thinking, yep, I did that!

We all start somewhere, at chapter one and there’s no perfect time to begin. You just have to back yourself and take that first step.

This is a little look at our beginnings on the farm and a gentle nudge for anyone ready to start their own story, full of firsts. You can do it! 🩷 by @blumeestate_

Another beautiful ranunculus season on the farm 🌷

Every season we learn a little more, and we’re already looking forward to what our ranunculus season will look like at Blume Estate next year.

With more space to grow, we’ll finally be able to share more of our flowers with our local community, something we’ve wanted to do for a long time. We can’t wait! 🤍 by @blumeestate_
