Sushi Train @ Crumbly
The longest project I’ve had to date!!

Having spent last season exploring all the options, I was searching for something. I’d found a potential beta early on in the process, but it didn’t feel right, as if there was something else the boulder was trying to teach me.

Ending the season empty handed and unsure with what I wanted out of the boulder left me with doubt and regret.

The first way I had found was quite burly, a style I felt came more naturally to me. Yet I knew there was a more technical way for me to be discovered, a style I felt I needed to grow in.

Between then and now, I’m proud to say I’ve become a more technical climber.

It feeling effortless and having finally discovered a way that felt right for me made me realise what all that time spent last season was for.

The realisation that these boulders are conduits for me to grow and become the person I want to be. Who knows, maybe I could have sent the boulder a long time ago if I had just committed to my first beta and moved on. Yet I just knew there was something more to be gained with patience.

Despite the numerous sessions spent on it falling and brewing doubts, it was all for this. The feeling of truly seeing something to the end, juicing it for all its worth and walking away with an experience I am proud to have fought for.

One from a while back.

Setting so much these days, all my boulders seem to blur together and the special moments come and go much faster. The next set is always around the corner and the motivation, energy and frankly, confidence, to document these days is low. So I was happy to revisit this one and be proud of how far I’ve come and the work I put up. taken in BlocHaus Leichhardt by @bluu.rock

It’s crazy to think I was close to not committing to this trip, little did I know it would be one of the most memorable and important climbing experiences I’ve had so far!

Lately I’ve been finding it difficult to separate comparison, grading, training and pressure from climbing. Given that I’ve made climbing a majority of my life, the difficulties have felt larger. But this trip reminded me of why I started in the first place - to experience the playfulness of climbing, the inbetween moments and the joys of movement with the people I love.

With that being said, I am more psyched than ever to push myself, learn, fall and overcome! All while having a silly goose time 🙂

✨ t o e s ✨

The brief for this one was to have the climber focus on their footwork. By clustering the holds under the feature, I wanted there to be a conscious decision on where to place their foot whilst the feature slightly obstructed the view.
