She’s in the lecture hall AND the pickup line. 📚🍼

Introducing Bawse Mom on the Yard, our newest initiative under our non-profit @bmexperienceinc for moms of color finishing their degree or finally going back to get it, who primarily attend, but not limited to HBCUs and MSIs.

Here’s why we’re showing up:
✨ More than half of all student parents are students of color
✨ 1 in 3 Black women in college is a single mom
✨ Student parents are 2x more likely to leave college before graduating

And her grades aren’t why she leaves. Student parents often earn higher GPAs than their classmates. What she’s missing is a support system built with her in mind.

That’s where we come in. Community. Resources. Real support, so she can walk across that stage with her babies cheering her on. 🎓

When The Bawse Mom Movement, initially started it was thought to just be a podcast but our Founder quickly realized it couldn’t just be one thing. Because moms don’t have just one need, especially black moms.

Some of us need a safe place to be seen and connected — that’s The Bawse Mom Social Society.

Some of us need real resources and support — that’s The Bawse Mom Experience, Inc. our nonprofit.

And all of us need conversations that remind us we’re not alone — that’s the Bawse Mom Movement podcast.

So now… it’s a whole thing. One umbrella. One movement. Every arm of it was intentional, because YOU deserve all of it mama🤎

Applications for the 2026 Bawse Mom On the Yard Scholarship are NOW OPEN! This $500 need-based award can help cover tuition gaps, childcare costs, books, supplies, or technology.

To qualify, you must be an enrolled CAU student mother in good academic standing (2.5 or higher) with demonstrated financial need.

At The Bawse Mom Movement, giving back is at the heart of who we are. That commitment inspired us to establish The Bawse Mom Experience, Inc. @bmexperienceinc our nonprofit dedicated to providing programs, resources, and meaningful support to moms and families in our community.

As Atlanta families prepared to send their children back to school, we had the opportunity to volunteer at the @aeblhoops Back-to-School Event. Seeing the children’s faces light up as they selected their book bags and school supplies was a beautiful reminder of what it means to have a village cheering you on. 💛

Today our nonprofit @bmexperienceinc had the opportunity to serve at the @aeblhoops Back to School Event in collaboration with other organizations like @themillennialmommiesclub and @dearfosterme held at KIPP Atlanta Collegiate.

Our Bawse Moms Serve imitative allows moms in the metro Atlanta area to show up for the community that has either raised us or has become home for a while. We enjoyed ourselves in helping prepare the babies for the upcoming school year with supplies, giveaways, haircuts, fun activities like face painting and community support!

✏️ Supplies: backpack, supplies from the teacher list, labels for everything.

👕 Clothes: try-on day, sizes/shoes sorted early.

🩺 Health: physicals, forms, dentist booked.

🗓️ Routines: bedtime reset the week before, morning plan ready.

📋 Admin: emergency contacts, pickup plan, after-school care confirmed.
