On October 24, 2026, we’re bringing Baltimore’s Black LGBTQ+ community, allies, chosen families, survivors, supporters and community organizations together for an evening centered around safety, belonging, healing, connection, celebration, remembrance and resources.

The Village Walk is the inaugural community walk presented by The Village Project Foundation.

This is more than a walk — It is a reminder that community still exists and that nobody has to navigate life alone.

NO ONE WALKS ALONE. 🌸

And when the walk ends, the Village experience continues. Come meet some of the people and organizations showing up for our community, grab something to eat and enjoy the vibe.

We’re celebrating Blaq Pride ALL. MONTH. LONG. Whimsy is on for Sunday, 10/25 from 2-6 pm at Wyman Park Dell. Bring your cozy fit, your good energy, and your whole authentic BLAQ PRIDEFUL self ✨

FREE EVENT | 21+
Pulling up solo or with your whole crew, come ready to connect, mingle, and meet new people. You never know who you’ll leave with as a new friend!

🧺 Bring: blankets, picnic baskets, coolers (no alcohol), your game face, and your whole authentic self

HAPPY LGBTQ+ HISTORY MONTH AND BLAQ PRIDE, AND NEW HISTORY NIGHT… In Baltimore, October isn’t just #lgbtqhistorymonth, it’s also @bmoreblaqpride , and it couldn’t be more fitting: from its earliest days, the LGBTQ+ movement in Baltimore has been led by incredible Black queer activists.

Not only were the precursors to modern groups like @pridecenterofmd and @freestatejustice led by Black queer people at a time when the gay and lesbian rights groups elsewhere were overwhelmingly led by white men, trailblazing groups like the National Coalition of Black Lesbians and Gays were started in Maryland, Black queer activists led the way in AIDS activism and awareness, and were leaders in LGBTQ+ religious groups.

You can read about it online in Zine 6, but I’ll be going more into it on NOV 5 at @theclubcarbaltimore at 7PM celebrating a new reel from SHAN Wallace’s incredible GLORY DAYS and a new zine about Black queer activism and nightlife. Come on by!

🖤 Baltimore Black Pride, but make it WONDALAND. 🎨❤️

We had an absolute BALL at the 2026 Carlton R. Smith ICON Awards at Baltimore’s Parkway Theatre, celebrating WONDALAND: The Power of the BLAQ Imagination alongside some of the most incredible members of Baltimore’s LGBTQ+ community.

Naturally, we couldn’t arrive as ourselves. 😉 Meet Tweedle Paint & Tweedle Draw (aka Tweedledee & Tweedledum, a mix-up we get ALL the time ). We had way too much fun dressing the part and bringing our own artistic spin to Wonderland while painting the absolutely ICONIC outfits of the evening.

And when we say we couldn’t stop taking photos… WE MEAN IT. We were supposed to wrap up, but every time we turned around, someone else was serving a look we had to capture. The fashion! The creativity! The self-expression! Baltimore understood the assignment, and then some. ✨

Thank you for having us at this unforgettable celebration of Black excellence, queer joy, and unapologetic imagination. We came to paint portraits and left with approximately a million photos and hearts completely full. 🖤🌈

This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we’re teaming up with Baltimore BLAQ Pride for a beautiful Day of Service at Whitelock Community Farm! 🖤🌿

Because community isn’t just something we talk about. It’s something we GROW, NOURISH, and BUILD together. 🌱

Join us for a day rooted in Black joy, queer liberation, collective care, and the power of showing up for one another. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or have never planted a seed in your life, there’s a place for YOU here! 🫶🏾

Black Renaissance has always been about giving LGBTQ Artists their space to be celebrated. We know the we are not a monolith, so here’s a range of events you can attend!

Oct 9th - Opening Night. Think solo date, intimate, potential first date, and introspective. It’s FREE, it’s meaningful, and self guided! This really gives you an opportunity to sit with the art and develop your own understanding of it.

Oct 10th - Community Day. Think for the extroverts! We hit brunch first with @lezblackgurlsbmore at the Empanada Lady (@the_empanada_lady), then at 3 PM we are at the Gallery to kick off our community day. Artists talks, activations, community art exhibit and more! Also FREE and accessible for everyone. Think planned activities, fun for a group, pre-game, and speedy datey.

Oct 11th - Violet Vibes Dinner Experience. This is for my people with money to spare. We know that some people prefer exclusivity and don’t mind paying for it, and so we will provide just that! Violet Vibes is a ticketed dinner experience that invites attendees to get an exclusive dining experience unlike any other. You will enjoy a dinner menu from Chef Mo, be catered to by the men of @blackmensxchange and receive a signed/framed copy of Black Renaissance II’s flyer. Tickets start at $35 and seating is limited! So get your tickets soon.
