ARCHDESI Y2S2: Unbuilt Visions of the East (Redefinition of the city as we know)

The project is an unbuilt vision within the context of Bangkok, Thailand. It challenges our understanding of the city as we know it, and the problem of it’s urban context.

My project explores the city as a 3 dimensional grid that challenges the monotony and monolithic qualities of megastructures by introducing aggregates of small figures and forms creating small-scale local situations and pockets within a massive infrastructure.

ARCHDESI Y2S2: Unbuilt Visions of the East (Redefinition of the city as we know)

The project aims to tackle the issue of congestion, soaring land price and lack of space by actually densifying the city vertically while introducing multilateral transits.

ARCHDESI Y2S2: Realising a Vision

This is a representation of what I vision in the unseen spaces within the Highrise of Homes, what might happen around the corner, the vast space, behind and between the space, hidden away from our eyes. What I got out of this was the idea of ‘MULTILATERALISM’ and ‘HIERARCHICAL’ of the narrative, a world upon each floor.

ARCHDESI Y2S2: Unbuilt Visions of the East

Case Study - High Rise of Homes by James Wine. Made with the concept of identity in density it allows people to select & customize their own land & houses. Allowing dwellers the freedom in designing their own living space.

DESIII Y2S1: Pavilion Details

Walls are mainly used to disconnect but what if we can connect people or even the nations through the use of walls? My main concept of the pavilion begins with the thought of creating an interactive temporary museum where each space is designed with different walls from around the world. Within these spaces is where “Thainess” will be explained with the cultural link to specific walls designed there.
