Plot twist: confidence doesn’t wait for the “right” body, the “right” age, or the “right” backdrop (although a friend’s garden and Hampstead Heath really did me a favour 🌿🌳).

I used to think I’d feel confident once I looked a certain way. Turns out it works the other way round, you just… decide. You put the outfit on. You sit in the ridiculous egg chair. You wander round the Heath like you own it. And somehow the feeling catches up.

So here’s me, in my early 60s, un-Photoshopped, un-bothered, having an absolute moment between a garden and a park. No permission needed.

You are not broken. You are becoming, and apparently becoming looks great in good light and even better company.
