Beaconhouse National University (BNU), in strategic partnership with the Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC), formally inaugurated the Green Experience Center (GEC) at a ceremony held on campus.

Conceived by the Razia Hassan School of Architecture and funded by OGDC, the GEC is a regenerative and sustainable green architecture project. It puts low-impact construction methods, circular material flows, and fine craftsmanship into practice as a living laboratory for learning, reflection, and collective exchange.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Moeed Yusuf, lead architect Mr. Omar Hassan, and OGDC Managing Director and CEO Mr. Ahmad Hayat Lak delivered formal addresses.

The event concluded with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and a guided walkthrough of the facility. Attendees included Mrs. Nasreen Mahmud Kasuri, Mr. Nayyar Ali Dada, Pervez and Razia Hassan, along with senior architects, corporate executives, and government officials.

The Center supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—specifically SDGs 4, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 17—aiming to spark critical discussion on regenerative architecture, planetary stewardship, and a low-emission future. by @bnu.rhsa

LAB 02 — BODY AS INSTRUMENT

What happens when space is felt before it is seen?

Students responded to a series of imagined spatial conditions—an invisible wall, a narrowing passage, a lowered ceiling, an edge, an opening—using only the movement and intuition of the body.

The exercise shifts attention away from architecture as something merely observed, asking instead how the body measures, anticipates, resists and negotiates space.

Before dimensions, drawings and walls, there is the body—reaching, hesitating, turning, contracting and moving through what it believes to be there.

The Razia Hassan School of Architecture (RHSA), BNU, is pleased to host Dr. Anosh Nadeem Butt, currently affiliated with the University of Glasgow, for a focused workshop on developing research methods for Interior Design thesis projects.

Drawing on his doctoral research at the University of Strathclyde and his academic experience at the University of Glasgow, Dr. Butt will guide BID Thesis students through the process of transforming an initial design interest into a focused research question, selecting appropriate research methods, and developing a coherent research plan.

The workshop will explore how research can inform and strengthen design inquiry, helping students move from an idea or area of interest toward a rigorous and workable thesis methodology.

SpurFold

A responsive facade system designed to control the relationship between interior and exterior. Each module is a coordinated system of wings, plates, and articulated arms that rotate to regulate the amount of daylight penetrating through the window.

The modules are mounted externally over the window, creating a façade that continuously varies in both visual permeability and the amount of daylight allowed to enter the interior.

Unlike a conventional window or blind, which typically operates in a simple “open” or “closed” mode, SpurFold offers a continuous range of movement. The façade can shift and adapt in response to changing daylight conditions and user needs. #kineticarchitecture #critday
