We are pleased to invite you to the Book Launch and Exhibition of Mawakhat: Stories of Resilience and Rebuilding after the 2022 floods. Mawakhat captures stories of courage and hope through the lens of Akhuwat, documenting the lives of those who rebuilt their homes through interest-free loans after the devastating floods of 2022.

The discussion will be led by Dr. Amjad Saqib, Founder and Chairman of Akhuwat – a visionary leader dedicated to empowering marginalised communities through interest-free microfinance and fee-free education, and Faizan Ahmad, storyteller and editor of Mawakhat book, with moderation by Asst. Prof. Saman Malik, Architect, and Urbanist. The talk will explore the documentation of the stories, the lives they portray, and the spirit of community and compassion they reflect.

We're glad to share an overview film on the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project (RRUDP). It represents one of Pakistan's most ambitious urban initiatives, aiming to transform the Ravi River into a dynamic, sustainable urban corridor.

This film captures the essence of the project through site visit snippets and highlights from an AIPS-funded workshop at Beaconhouse National University. Expert discussions and critical analyses shed light on the environmental, social, and economic challenges surrounding RRUDP, offering a nuanced understanding of its potential to reshape Lahore’s urban landscape while addressing pressing sustainability concerns.
