Yeah, I earned this. I know, feel it, believe it. Left my old gym to come here @queensjiujitsu and embraced the teachings of professor @pizzajitsu. Then I went to another level with knowledge, experience, and skills. Grateful for the journey with such resistance, heartache, and chaos.

Also thanks to my girl, @excusemyshay for coming. Didn't wanna make a big deal, but she surprised me with my mom. Mom knows I love jits, yet we really don't have a history of celebrating things together. So it was really special. Got her out, too!

Now back to training.

And ordering more purple drip! 💜

Fortunate to get the dubs today. I'll take the first match by points and second by submission. Strangely, I still get nerves every time. And it feels awful.

Thank you and congratulations to my teammates of @queensjiujitsu for the support. Was really great seeing you all competing as well. Also, thanks to @mikhailevans for the coaching.

Firstly, shout out to all my training partners, mentors, and instructors who support and inspire me to become better across @ufcgymlongisland, @queensjiujitsu, and @unityjiujitsuvalleystream. I am nothing without them. I'm fortunate and do not take my blessings for granted.

Three 3 years ago @timkennedymma tossed me around like a rag doll and spoke about a "magic power." I bought in. The next day back from Florida I started my jits journey.

Lastly, I competed and lost last night at a great event, @tap_tournament @10peastlongisland. But that loss gave me a chance to pick myself up to do good today in my 35th competition. I am grateful. taken in Mennen Arena Morristown by @bobby5gs

You better take care of your training partners. This game and life is truly selfish. But, there's no other sport so damn physically intimate. We are reliant on others. Thus, appreciate those who give and give back plentiful. Help them improve and knowing how to.

Anyway, I'm gonna get this wrestling thing! Watch me work and improve over time.

I'm really trying. This is uncomfortable, time consuming, and tiresome. In many situations painful as well. But, I want to be better and willing to put in the work to understand this game.

I'm in pain, yet strangely moving differently. The way in which there's dexterity getting up from the ground. There's an improved comfort. Also the longer durations standing maybe be indicative of improving stability in my spine.

Anyway, progress is observable. I'm so happy for it.
