Our upcoming retreats are gateways into that quiet. They offer the space to inhabit the stillness that the land provides so readily - to move at the pace of the fynbos and the changing light. It is an opportunity for unadorned presence: to simply see what is true when the noise falls away.

Festive Rest at Bodhi Khaya | 23 December 2026 – 3 January 2027

Disconnect to reconnect: step away from the year-end rush and trade the noise for ‘Festive Rest’, where there is space to let the year close on your own terms.

Includes accommodation (ranging from camping to en-suite rooms), three plant-based meals daily, and all daily retreat activities.

There is a quiet that settles over the valley just as the rest of the year reaches its loudest peak, leaving behind the relentless rush and excess of the festive season. Instead of another crowded calendar, imagine days where your time is entirely your own.

You might spend the morning moving between the meditation hall and a flow yoga session, or sleep in and take your coffee slowly by the window. Step outside and the options stretch out: hikes through the fynbos, cold water dips in the dam, or the heat of the wood-fired sauna. Gather at the long table for shared plant-based meals, or slip away with a book from the library.

There are no rigid schedules here, only a rich menu of daily practices, evening walks, and open hours to shape exactly as you choose.

Full stay or half-period options available:
• 23 – 27 December 2026: 4 Nights
• 23 December 2026 – 3 January 2027: 11 Nights
• 29 December – 3 January 2027: 5 Nights

Spring has a way of bringing new life and little moments of magic to the land.

Over the weekend, we welcomed a new little arrival to the Bodhi family. Already settling in peacefully alongside mom, our newest resident is a beautiful reminder of the simple joys of life here.

But there's one thing missing… a name for the little girl!

We'd love your help choosing one. Share your suggestions in the comments - we can't wait to see what you come up with.

We’re now at @bodhikhaya! While at a retreat here 18months ago, the first seeds of Momentary Rituals were watered.

I “met” Dom, our amazing herbalist, through some of her own products. And knew that one day I’d work with her.

Over the next year the concept and blends grew - until the soil could no longer hold them. And they sprouted into the world.

Bodhi Khaya has always been an incredibly special place for me - as it is for so many. It just shows the magic possible when we pause. And listen.

This is the backbone and mission of Momentary Rituals. The pause. To listen. And reconnect with our deeper Selves.

Gently, nourishingly, and supported.

Because even when you do the work solo.

You are never alone.

It is a simple idea: we are not standing outside the natural world looking in. We are part of it.

The oxygen we breathe, the food we eat, the water we depend on, all are part of living systems that connect us to plants, soil, animals, oceans and the atmosphere.

We are not separate from nature. We are participants in it.

At Bodhi Khaya, we return to this idea by paying attention. Stand beneath the trees. Feel the ground beneath your feet. Listen to birdsong moving through the forest. Look up at the night sky.

For a moment, consider the scale of what you are part of. And then ask yourself:
When did you last feel that you were not separate from the world around you, but an inseparable part of something much larger?

Perhaps come and spend some time here, and see what you notice.

Bodhi Forest offers something different from the main Bodhi Khaya retreat space.

It is a flexible place for groups to come together, with the forest and surrounding landscape as part of the setting.

A team might come here to step away from the office, think together and work on what comes next.

A group might gather for an art residency, a team workshop, a practice or simply time together away from their usual surroundings.

The space can hold different kinds of gatherings, each with its own purpose, programme and pace.

There is accommodation, a workshop barn, forest trails, a swimming dam and a wood-fired sauna - with room for the day to unfold around what you have come here to do.

Bodhi Forest is a space to bring our guests together, whatever the nature of the gathering.

A place to pause between moments.

At Bodhi Khaya, accommodation is woven into the rhythm of the retreat.

You might return to your room after morning practice, leave your walking shoes by the door and sit with a book for a while.

Then it's time for lunch. Or a walk. Or the next practice.
The room is not separate from the experience. It is a place to retreat to, rest, read or simply spend some time quietly.

For a while, the decisions of everyday life can wait. The choice is yours.

Some walks have a destination.
Others don’t.

Sometimes you just follow the path.
Look around.
Stop for a while.
Keep going.

Around Bodhi Khaya, there are trails through forest, fynbos and mountain landscape.

You can walk for an hour. Or stop after ten minutes because you found somewhere you want to sit.
There is no particular way to do it.

Sometimes the best walks are the ones with nowhere to be.

Instead of the steady background noise of traffic and the city, the soundscape at Bodhi Khaya and Bodhi Forest shifts with the sky.

As the afternoon moves into evening, the bird calls change with it. You hear a selection of actual recordings from the area, from birds passing high overhead, like the African Fish Eagle and the Blue Crane, to the daytime and night-time calls moving through the trees and fynbos below.

For the birders out there, what other calls can you identify?
Turn your sound up.

Lumina Breathwork Facilitator Training | 12 – 19 November 2026*

*𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞: 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝 – 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐩𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕

What does it feel like to learn breathwork not only as a practice, but as something you can confidently guide others through?

Lumina’s 120-hour hybrid training with Olivia Moon combines online learning, self-study and a seven-day in-person immersion at Bodhi Khaya’s Wild Pod.

The training covers breath awareness, yogic pranayama, modern functional breathwork and Conscious Connected Breathing, alongside the practical skills needed to hold and guide a session.

At the in-person immersion, participants begin guiding sessions from day one — learning through practice, finding their own voice and becoming more comfortable in the role of facilitator.

Afterwards, the learning continues through case studies, a 21-day breath practice, written assignments and eight monthly group mentorship calls.

A training that brings together study, practice, community and time spent immersed at Bodhi Khaya.
