Keep your pick right where you need it. Our pick clip fit almost any guitar strap and is design to not only hold every Bog Street pick. it will also securely hold most other thin to medium weight picks.

Our patented clip features a rubberized center to help keep the clip securely attached to the guitar strap and the pick securely to the clip.

Note: We tested this on several materials and thicknesses. If you have a leather strap, there may be some visible impression on the strap if left in place for an extended period of time.  by @bogstreet

Joe Bonamassa.. looking pretty rad except that guitar is in pretty rough shape. I was tempted to rescue you @joebonamassa from Goodwill, but I just thought you seem so happy there.

Using a whammy bar effectively requires coordination between your picking hand and the tremolo arm. In this episode of **Street Smarts**, TrueFire instructor **Chris Buono** explains how guitarists can integrate whammy bar techniques into their playing while still maintaining control of the pick.

Chris demonstrates how keeping the pick grip relaxed allows your remaining fingers to interact with the whammy bar while you continue picking or hybrid picking. He also discusses practical setup tips—like positioning the tremolo arm so it’s always within reach and adjusting the tension so it moves easily without getting in the way.

With the right setup and a little practice, the whammy bar becomes another expressive tool that can add motion, texture, and character to your playing.

Sweep picking is an economical guitar technique where the pick moves across multiple strings in a single continuous motion. In this episode of **Street Smarts**, TrueFire instructor **Chris Buono** explains how sweep picking works and why it’s often confused with a related technique called raking.

Chris demonstrates how true sweep picking involves intentionally sounding each note as the pick travels across the strings, typically within arpeggio shapes. He also discusses important concepts like feeling the resistance of the strings, angling the pick for efficiency, and practicing slowly so the notes ring clearly instead of blending into a rake.

While sweep picking is most commonly used with **one note per string arpeggios**, Chris also shows how the technique can be applied to more complex patterns that mix multiple notes per string.

Now You See it...

Many guitarists think they have to choose between playing with a pick or playing with their fingers—but you don’t always have to. In this episode of Street Smarts, TrueFire instructor Chris Buono demonstrates how to move seamlessly between pick playing and fingerstyle without ever putting the pick down.

Chris shows how simply shifting the pick within your grip allows you to access all of your fingers when needed, giving you the ability to switch between traditional picking, hybrid picking, and full fingerstyle techniques in the same passage. The result is greater flexibility, more tonal options, and a wider range of musical textures.

He also explains how fingerstyle and pick playing produce different tones, and why combining the two approaches can expand what’s possible on the instrument.

Arpeggiation is the act of breaking a chord into its individual notes and playing them in sequence. In this episode of Street Smarts, TrueFire instructor Chris Buono explains how arpeggiation works and why it’s one of the most expressive techniques available to guitarists.

Chris demonstrates how separating the notes of a chord creates flowing melodic movement while still outlining the underlying harmony. He also introduces concepts like pivoting and “surrounding areas,” which help the picking hand move efficiently across strings while maintaining consistency and control.

By focusing on smooth string transitions and allowing notes to ring together—what Chris calls “maximum ring”—guitarists can create rich, layered textures that take full advantage of the guitar’s unique capabilities.

Legato Picking
Legato picking is a hybrid technique that combines alternate picking, hybrid picking, and legato playing to move efficiently across the strings. In this episode of **Street Smarts**, TrueFire instructor **Chris Buono** demonstrates a creative approach he developed to navigate three-note-per-string scale patterns more comfortably.

Chris explains how traditional alternate picking can sometimes run into challenges with inside string changes. His solution blends **alternate picking, hybrid picking, hammer-ons, and pull-offs** to avoid those awkward transitions while still maintaining speed and fluidity.

The result is a technique that not only improves efficiency but also creates subtle variations in tone and articulation as the pick, fingers, and legato movements interact across the strings.

String Skipping

String skipping is a guitar technique that creates wide melodic intervals by deliberately jumping over adjacent strings. In this episode of Street Smarts, TrueFire instructor Chris Buono explains how string skipping works and why it can add a distinctive sound and feel to your playing.

Chris demonstrates how skipping strings allows guitarists to outline larger interval shapes while keeping the fretting hand in comfortable positions. He also shows how the technique can be played using alternate picking, legato, or hybrid picking, each approach producing its own feel and articulation.

Because string skipping often involves aggressive picking and larger hand movements, Chris also discusses the importance of grip and control when holding the pick during demanding passages.
