This song is one of those songs that just stops you in your tracks. “Sailing” by @itsmrcross is an absolute classic that has some mystery to design. To play the original, you need to tune your guitar down to Open D. That’s D - A - D - F# - A - D.

This tone is also a preset I dialed in on the @hotoneaudioinst Ampero II. You can download it via @thesoundshopco . (LINK IN BIO) I have it formatted for each unit under the Nobes Versatile Pack. This specific preset is the Ambient Preset with the chorus engaged. Check out my YouTube for a full tutorial!

Rocking out with a Squier Strat, LEKATO wireless, and Blackstar Beam Mini! 🔥🎸 Sometimes you don’t need a huge rig to have a great time playing guitar. This is a simple, compact setup that sounds great and is perfect for quick jams in the studio.

What do you think of this setup? 🤘

Touring in Brazil with @israelhoughton and @israelnewbreed we were able to give back to the culture. This was totally improvised and probably would only happen once. Of course in Rio de Janeiro 🇧🇷

The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows

I broke the repeat button with this song on my poor little CD player back in high school.

The core of my guitar sound is @jenningsguitars voyager guitar (which plays fantastic) with @lambertones_pickups Crema/grinder pickups. @revvamps g2 v2 OD pedal into the revv D20 mk2. Then that goes into @cloudmics CL520 preamp, it doesn’t color the sound, it does add what I’d call dimension to it though. And I pushed it a little bit hot for the lead guitar for more saturation.
I also used a different pick for what I normally play. I really liked how the @bogstreet Battle Axe pick was sounding and feeling for this.

@jaredburton07 killing it on the drums again. It’s been so fun doing these covers. What other songs should we do?

Here’s a photo of me at my Nashville home studio @stationwest . This is how I record in not only Nashville but in Los Angeles, New York, Akron, Virginia, China, Rhode Island, Cape Cod, etc. The main mix console is simply a holder for my MacBook laptop, iPad pro, and full sized monitor. Along with my Apollo x4 and Focusrite OctaPre I record full sized live rhythm sections, lead and background vocals, live strings, etc. I am a modern day takeoff of the old Palladin TV show theme, “Have Laptop Will Travel”. I am so grateful to the Lord for giving me the ability to do this music production, recording, arranging, playing, mixing & mastering work. And also grateful to the amazing companies and their great products - @apple , @steinbergmedia , @pspaudioware , @adkmicrophone , @arturia_official , @bogstreet , @uaudio , @ujaminstruments , @nativeinstruments , @nativeinstruments @yamahamusicusa , @stringjoy , etc.
