New food spot! 🍋🍋‍🟩Flower Child is OPEN🍋‍🟩🍋 at The Village, & we got a sneak peek! 🛍️Starting around 11am until supplies last (OCT 13, 2026-opening day only): free totes & some flower surprises!💐 Whether you like meats or are vegetarian, vegan, or gluten free, their menu is clearly marked with options. Lots of colorful bowls, salads, wraps, entrees, & more. With such a versatile menu, it would be a fun spot to grab lunch with a friend, take the kids out, or just take a break from making one more meal at home (🙋‍♀️). Also, the staff was so kind. They shared about who created certain dishes, some restaurant history, to the type of florals we were admiring. 🪦She's alive!!!! You don’t have to wait until Halloween night to experience Harrison Boulevard. Once decorations start going up, Harrison becomes one of our favorite places to take a slow walk with the kids, check out what’s new, snap pictures & let them point out every fall detail they can find... Without the crowds. 👻 Our tips: 🚽Use restroom FIRST. Bring the stroller or wagon for tired feet to keep things moving. SNACKS! Dress for weather. For older kiddos, talk about expectations regarding waiting at intersections. Sometimes giving kids one thing to find and tally/count can keep them focused! 🕷️🪦💀🤡 ☕️ Make a day of it: Start @janjoupatisserie for coffee + a treat, then walk north along Harrison and take in the decorations. Go about a mile, turn around, and make your way back... It's fun to grab a treat for the walk back, like a milkshake or fries from @hawkinspacout or refuel with snacks at Jacksons; if you need a bigger break, grab lunch @lulusfinepizza or @highlands_hollow. 🍴 If starting on the north end of Harrison: Grab some fuel from @mountaintimbercoffee before heading south on Harrison Blvd. Snap pics and enjoy. At the end of the ~mile walk, you can grab food from all the local spots in the State Street Plaza such as @cloud9boise @rushbowlsboise @mazzah.boise.1772 or @daveshotchicken; if you prefer to just grab and go, then you can hit the Albertsons across the way before making your way back north. 🕸️Keep checking back because the houses tend to add more decorations as Halloween gets closer (thank a neighbor if you see them in construction mode). 📌Save this one for your next little North End adventure! #boisehalloween #harrisonblvd #northendboise taken in Harrison Boulevard Historic District by @boisemom_

🚌You’ve probably seen the @boisetrolleytours cruising around for their more well known historical tours, but did you know they offer themed tours throughout the year, too? 🎃I got to hop on the Haunted Halloween Tour, so naturally I had to see what the spooky trolley situation was all about. 👻 🏚️The 90-minute tour takes you around Boise while sharing haunted locations, local history, and stories about some of the people connected to the city’s past. 🪦There’s also a stop where you get out and explore a little before continuing the tour. And for my Boise Mom crowd: kids 12+ are welcome, but I’d save this one for older kids who enjoy history, spooky stories, and taking in the stories along the way. 🎃 Let me know if you went and what you think. 🌟𝕋𝕒𝕜𝕖𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕣 𝕋𝕦𝕖𝕤𝕕𝕒𝕪🌟 Hello, I’m Rebecca Rae - a Christian, wife, and mama to two wonderful boys. (ages 3 and nearly 1) I am a massage therapist but right now I primarily work in an administrative position at my small spa in downtown Meridian so that I can prioritize being home with my babies!  I was homeschooled growing up and am eager to do the same with our children as they grow. I formerly studied nutrition and birth work so I love learning more and talking about anything related to natural health/pregnancy/birth etc!   I enjoy cooking, reading and traveling. Idaho hotsprings are one of my favorite destinations. 5 Boise Bucket List Fall Ideas before the season ends! 🍂There is another recent post on Boise Mom specifically for pumpkin patches. Here are a few other unique options: 🍁1. Stroll through Kathryn Albertson Park This park just outside downtown Boise has so many different varieties of colorful plants & trees, bridges, & reflections on the water that make this such a beautiful place to walk in fall. For peak colors, mid to late October is generally a good window, so plan for this one in the next week or two. 🥾2. Walk all around the North End Harrison Boulevard is a favorite for spotting fall & Halloween decorations. Camel’s Back Park is also a classic for an easy & quick climb to overlook the colors in the city. We love ending outings around here with a treat like Dee’s Ice cream in Hyde Park🍦@deesicecreamtrolley 🦅3. @worldcenterforbirdsofprey Fall Flights run Fridays–Sundays through October 31, with advance reservations required. If you miss them, the center is open year-round, Tuesday–Sunday, with regular live bird encounters! Take time to explore the outdoor trails & picnic spots, too.. you get a great overlook of the city colors here too & most people don’t realize the views that these trails offer as well. @peregrinefund 🌮4. Hang out along the Greenbelt Grab food & enjoy an afternoon at @greenacresboise or @bluebirdsocial_, then add a walk along the river. Green Acres’ last day of the season is October 18, & Bluebird Social lists its season through the end of October. Check out those sites for events including live music & festivals that are still going on. These are both beautiful spots to enjoy these fall afternoons! 🌻5. Visit a local garden center @jordanstreestoo has several FREE activities for kids, including a hay maze, petting zoo, & corn pit. @victorygardensnursery is another favorite, with its sand pit, cute fall boutique, and a coffee shop with fall drinks. Both have pumpkins & plants for sale so you can support these businesses after as you enjoy everything they offer families. What do you still need to check off your list before the season ends?
