🥬 this is ZINE FOR THE HART v. 2

⚖️ the theme for this independent publication, exhibiting 15 local artists, was balance. i suggested that artists consider their power in tipping the scales of justice back in the favour of the people, keeping in mind the weight of worldly injustices we are seeing in Palestine, the Congo, Sudan, Xinjiang, this empire itself, and across the globe.

❤️‍🔥 I am so proud of everyone who contributed to this zine, whether as a wordsmith, a visual creator, or as a performer or a vendor at the beautiful Release Mixer we had in August. Pictures from @sarah.michelle.lane coming soon!

🤲🏻 It has been beautiful to watch this project flow alongside me, through the best of times and through the absolute worst. thank you for y’alls trust in me.

✊🏻 ZINE FOR THE HART was founded as a literary magazine, seeking to put the visionaries in Hartford at the forefront. I aspire to be an emphatic supporter of emerging artists or folks finding their footing. While this issue was open to all of CT, I am hoping to proceed towards Volume 3 (!) with these roots in mind.

DM me if you’d like a copy xx

SAD VIBES!

i made this illustration a few weeks ago during a group therapy session.

paraphrased from the words of one of my peers, they encapsulated exactly how i had been feeling the past few weeks. submerged, and uncertain.

feeling much better today, but i am sharing this because i haven’t been creating much. school is beating my ass. by @bokchoy.studios

THEE SECOND “ZINE FOR THE HART” ZINE RELEASE MIXER

what a beautiful evening. it means so much to me to have so many of my loved ones in a shared space to celebrate local art, and the people behind the work, fighting for our voices to be heard.

missed this event?? not sure what my zine mixers are all about??

i’m eager to formally announce that these events i host are ONGOING. if you missed the past few, don’t be shy! They’ll be happening every 4-6 months, as my release mixers occur in tandem with the release of my publications. don’t be a stranger and come on out to the next one

thank you @semillahtfd for the space and @sarah.michelle.lane for capturing the night. stay tuned for snaps of the vendors xx
