Grateful for the simple moments that make a full life.

Started the day making breakfast for the family — one small way to make things easier for my wife @accordingtokori as she’s a little over a month out from having the baby.

Spent quality time with my son, connected with my pastor, and enjoyed a nice Sunday walk with the family.

Wrapped it up with a quick budget check-in over dinner to get aligned for the week

Taking advantage of these moments while we prepare for this next season.

Blessed and thankful.

How did you spend your Sunday?

Last weekend, our village came to shower Our Little Masterpiece, Robert III, with an outpouring of love, hugs, gifts, and laughter. God gave me the theme months ago, and while working & transitioning into our new home (while 7 months pregnant 🥲), He also gave me the strength, patience, diligence, and support to bring it all to life. And it was beyond what I imagined — everything came together so beautifully.

While the women indulged in a lovely afternoon of food, games & art-ivities (which included a bib design and best baby sketch contest), @robbo1den hosted a Dads & Diapers party for the men in a separate area (which the men highly appreciated lol), complete with pizza, football, and fatherly wisdom.

I have never been filled with so much joy, peace, and gratitude. My life, by no means, is perfect by the world’s standard. Rob and I have faced many challenges that have tested our faith. But every single day that we choose to put our complete trust & hope in Jesus Christ over our circumstances, He ALWAYS shows up & shows out (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Truly grateful for our village and this beautiful new chapter of our lives. 🙏🏾💙 Oh, and shoutout to my insanely gifted cousin @swan.germain for painting the beautiful portrait of our son’s sonogram (last slide).

Whew! This home purchase put the TEST in testimony, chile. 😭

After four arduous months of multiple inspections, appraisals, contract negotiations & addendums, and every random thing in between (a lonnnnggg story for another day lol), we finally closed on our first family home on Wednesday, October 9! 🙌🏾🏠

Our word over the last several months has been “endure” — to undergo or suffer patiently; to bear; to sustain without impairment or yielding.

There were many times we wanted to walk away, but we just knew the Lord was calling us to this home for a purpose beyond acquiring more space for our growing family.

There was something greater He was cultivating & refining in us through this process. The ability to trust His perfect timing over our fruitless plans & expectations. The strength to deny our pride and humble ourselves before Him in moments of doubt & frustration. The discipline to continue doing our part in stewarding what He has already given us. The wisdom to encourage & keep each other accountable to God’s Word, despite how hopeless we felt at times. The faith and willingness to endure & choose joy through it all.

Lord, we thank You — not just for blessing us with our new home, but for being who You are & who You have always been.

And thank you to our amazing realtor & family @zee_fofana for enduring with us — from the late/early texts & calls to even offering money from your own pocket to help cover unexpected costs that arose during this process. Everything you’ve done shows that not only are you exceptional at what you do, but that you’re a true woman of character. We love and appreciate you dearly.

To our son, Robert III, boy you have NO CLUE what all your Daddy & Mommy are doing out here to prepare for your arrival 😭. But we wouldn’t have it any other way because we serve a God who prepares us for the very thing He’s already prepared for us — and that is you, our sweet, darling boy. We love you.💙

A special thank you to @asiajuneacreates for these adorable onesies and to @2ruediva for Baby Rob’s first toy, beautifully handcrafted from the Samara tribe in Kenya. Our son is already so, incredibly loved. 🫶🏾 by @boldenmatrimony

Before we really got to know Jesus, both of us (@accordingtokori and robbo1den) had skewed perspectives of what love is. But what does the Bible teach us?

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 states:

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

What in this passage of Scripture stands out to you?

@accordingtokori: Babe, how does the “guy who throws the ball” know when and where to throw it to? 🤨

@robbo1den (ECSTATIC that she is showing interest in my sport 😂): Oh yeah let me walk you through the “progressions” lol

Fellas - Be gentle today fielding your woman’s questions - lest you never get a sport related question again 😭

Whenever @accordingtokori’s family would go on trips growing up, her mom wouldn’t let them do ANYTHING until they sanitized the entire hotel room down with Lysol wipes 😭. The habit stuck, and now she gets to drive @robbo1den and their future kids crazy with it. 😂

Who can relate? 🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏾‍♂️

#BoldenMatrimony by @boldenmatrimony

For @robbo1den, love used to be something that served him — the thing that made him feel good, secure, and established.

And the moment that security was broken, he would jump to the next person or thing that validated his ego.

Do you believe love is about being served, or serving? We wanna hear your take!

At one point, @accordingtokori believed love was a feeling — the butterflies in the stomach; the excitement that accompanied a new connection; the warmth of affection.

It wasn’t until she got intentional about her relationship with Jesus that she learned the true meaning and transformative power of love.

Do you believe love is a feeling or something more than that? Let’s talk about it!

Our Saturdays typically consist of morning Bible study, @traderjoes runs, and whatever else is on the calendar for the day. Tonight, game night with one of our fav couples. ☺️
