Located in Portland, Maine, Bold Magazine Shop @boldmagshop carries hundreds of specialty, independent, and international titles that cover the realms of art and design, literature, lifestyle and fashion, travel, and food.

Founder Stacy Mitchell is a dumpling fan herself. “Some of my favorite food memories are of eating pierogi my grandmother made. Now, they’re a holiday tradition, which makes them even more special,” she tells @abovethefolddumplings. “We’ve tried making her potato and cheese recipe ourselves a few times, but haven’t yet managed to get them just right. So every Christmas, my parents pick up dozens from a Polish church a couple hours from their house in Ohio. My son just turned three and I’m so excited to make sure pierogi are part of his Christmas memories too.”

Outside of the holidays, her go-to spot in Portland is Bold Magazine Shop’s neighbor, Sichuan Kitchen @sichuankitchenportland , where she occasionally grabs dumplings on the way home from a long day’s work. “An order of their Zhong Dumplings, Tian Shui Noodles, and Dry Fried Chicken is my happy place,” she says.
