Ever brewed with hops you could trace right back to the bine? 🌿

At Bold River, each varietal has selections based on harvest window (no blended lots here), and each selection has its own QR code chock-a-block full of intel. We’re talking testing data, harvest date, farm block, kiln temp, sensory notes, the face Pete made when the lupulin hit the back of his nostrils. 🤓📈📗

A Bold River x @lefthandedgiantbrewing mashup? It was a big yes please from us 🤩 And clearly from you too, since this little beaut is already sold out!

A mojito lime, sweetgrass and stewed gooseberry hazy hitting all the right parts of your mouth with Bold River Nelson Sauvin, Motueka and Wakatu 🤤

A cracker start to our lineup of UK brews - you guys rock!

It’s official. 🇬🇧
The visa’s been approved.
The British slang has been hastily learned (“alright”)
And the flight has landed.

Bold River Hops have officially arrived in the UK for their big OE.

They’re already taking selfies with Big Ben, moving into a tiny London flat with six other Kiwis, and pulling pints at all the best pubs 🍻

Brit brewers - we can’t wait to see what you come up with 🤤

Summer Tour Starts this Thursday in North Canterbury, NZ!

For the first stop on our Summer Tour, we’re taking you to Okuora Farms, home of Bold River Hops. We brewed a super-duper hoppy 9% New Zealand DIPA featuring Nelson and Nectaron hops in both the kettle and the DDH. Made with 100% pilsner malt for a lighter body that lets the hops shine, it’s bursting with notes of honeydew, apricot, and peach, backed by a medium bitterness.

We met John and his daughter Jamie from @boldriverhops at a conference and became fast friends, bonding over a shared love of craft beer and being general weirdos. Their family-owned farm sits in the heart of New Zealand’s premier hop-growing region, where the ideal climate and soil produce truly top-tier hops. They’re also just genuinely rad people, and we’re excited to share their hops with you.

Come hungry! We’ve got a great lineup of food vendors all weekend:

THURS – Ray’s Amazing Pizza // 4 PM @raysamazingpizzeria
FRI – El Cubano Kitchen // 4 PM @elcubanokitchen
SAT – Brew Krew Burgers // 2–8 PM @brewkrewcatering
SUN – Saul’s Mexican Kitchen // 1–7 PM @sauls_kitchen

Didn’t pre-register? No worries! You can sign up in person starting Thursday at 4 PM. taken in Stereo Brewing Company by @boldriverhops

You didn’t think we could breeze on past without shouting out our epic Bold River locals that just WON the Smiths NZIPA Challenge did you?! Fan-freaking-tastic work team 🥳 @brewmoonbrewingco @thiefbrewing @b.effectbrewing

Particularly poetic sensory notes by @beerswithcol_nz :
“What a beautiful haze and the nose jumps out the glass, smacks you around the chops and says drink me!! It truly shows that New Zealand hops are some of the best in the world... diesel, dank, stonefruit, herbaceous, massive amounts of fruit, touch of bitternerss to give it some roundness, but it’s the way the trio of breweries allowed all those hops to truly shine.” 🥹

It’s giving *mindfulness for brewers* 🧘‍♂️

In all seriousness, we’re incredibly grateful to be able to spend our days working on and with the land, crafting beer’s best ingredient (ok, we might be a little biased!)

Every crop connects us - and a little piece of New Zealand - with brewers and beer drinkers across the globe 🍻 How epic.

A special thanks to @larraman for capturing this cool footage during the @swanndri_nz shoot on our farm last season 🙌🏼

Not Bold River Hops featuring in nearly every brew at the @twothumbbrewingco Fresh Hop Beerfest last month 😎 A massive congrats to our (very) local @thiefbrewing for taking out the People’s Choice award with their magnificent Hazy, Brood Mother. Brewing up an absolute treat with 75kg of our Mot, fresh from the garden and straight into the tank. Legends!

Brewer spotlight: @newterrainbrewingco 🤩 Award-winning, exploratory brews seated at the feet of the mountains in Golden, Colorado? That’s a BIG yes please from us.
These guys have been having a play with our Nectaron, Mot and Riwaka with some epic results. Working directly with brewers is one of the best parts of this job. As Dave said to us very early on, “relationships are the essence of life!”
