Adding on to our 2026 Christchurch Breweries Festival line up with @brewmoonbrewingco. Established in 2002 with no signs of slowing down, this crew isn't afraid of change or even changing locations. It's a quick trip up to Amberley for award winning beer and impeccable hospitality AND that amazing Unlucky Hunter Pizza 😍. This year's fresh hop beer was absolutely outstanding and utilized hops grown in North Canterbury from @boldriverhops. Love local supporting local.

Really enjoyed the podcast @stefan_trackbrewco did with John Penno from @boldriverhops the other week and really made me look forward to this @trackbrewingco beer. Woah it’s lovely. Featuring nectaron so your getting that really punchy juicy tropical flavour, it’s super smooth, pillowy you could say. Near perfection

Kiwi Aura 26: Bold River Hops (6.5% ABV) IPA by @lefthandedgiantbrewing in collaboration with @boldriverhops

This one is this the second in the new Kiwi Aura series for 2026, focussed on the unique growing conditions of New Zealand and some it’s finest producers! This particular grower has the combination of a coastal location and very fertile soil. As always this is a real showcase of NZ hops with a Bristol twist!

Nelson, Motueka and Wakatu come together to deliver a beautiful IPA, so fresh and full of flavour. Citrus, berry and a hint of sweetness in this version. Thick, hazy and juicy beer that really showcases the ingredients.

Very pleased to see the Kiwi Aura series return in 2026. Every beer last time round was a banger and given LHG’s form since then I’m confident this lot will be too.
This was the first of 2026 with @boldriverhops Nelson, Motueka and Wakatu.
It’s a lovely mix of mandarin and lime citrus with tart gooseberry, grapes, and white wine, and a touch herbal. Good hop bitterness too which is always a nice surprise in modern hazies. Great body too. Yep, it’s a banger again. LHG comfortably among the best the UK has to offer at the moment.

New brew Monday!

Fresh off the brite tank, today we're dropping a Otter Pockets - our first #DefinitelyNotGlutenFree New-Zealand-Style India Pale Ale!

We worked directly with @BoldRiverHops and Okuora Farms in New Zealand to source only the freshest hops for this extreme hazy. Pouring a straw gold color and as opaque as they get, we also hit it with @FreestyleHops Riwaka Subzero Hop Kief, knocking on the door of all the trendy hop additions.

The end result is extremely tropical, with aromas and flavors of passion fruit, mango, and peach balanced with a restrained hop bitterness.

Available today for distribution and in the Tasting Room! Open from 3pm until 9pm, with the @ChilltownStreetClub Weekly Warmup 5k, open to all runners and walkers, at 6:30pm!

Summer Tour Starts this Thursday in North Canterbury, NZ!

For the first stop on our Summer Tour, we’re taking you to Okuora Farms, home of Bold River Hops. We brewed a super-duper hoppy 9% New Zealand DIPA featuring Nelson and Nectaron hops in both the kettle and the DDH. Made with 100% pilsner malt for a lighter body that lets the hops shine, it’s bursting with notes of honeydew, apricot, and peach, backed by a medium bitterness.

We met John and his daughter Jamie from @boldriverhops at a conference and became fast friends, bonding over a shared love of craft beer and being general weirdos. Their family-owned farm sits in the heart of New Zealand’s premier hop-growing region, where the ideal climate and soil produce truly top-tier hops. They’re also just genuinely rad people, and we’re excited to share their hops with you.

It’s Friday, I’m in Love……with this beer!!

🏆 …And the winner is…

Got this winner from the @smithscraftbeer NZIPA Challenge 2026 from the amazing team at @punkybrewsterchch was it a worthy winner? Hell yeah!!

Brewed with the heavyweight trio of @claytonhops_nz Riwaka, CIP076 and @boldriverhops Nectaron. What a beautiful haze and the nose jumps out the glass smacks you around the chops and say drink me!!.

How @thiefbrewing @b.effectbrewing and @brewmoonbrewingco managed to produce such a@stunning beer is beyond me? It truely shows that New Zealand hops are some of the best in the world….diesel, dank, stonefruit, herbaceous, massive amounts of of fruit, touch of bitterness to give it some roundness, but it’s the way the trio of breweries allowed all those hops to truely shine….every sip, makes you want more, although if I’m being honest I left some for tomorrow so I have a 5 ⭐️beer to drink then.

Stunner guys….if you are around Christchurch, i urge you to get to @punkybrewsterchch to get some as it WILL run out…..

It felt like a @thiefbrewing kinda night……three brews, one vibe, all Thief!! I have to say, these were three cracking brews…

First up Operation IPA Vol. 2 Amarillo…..a big, bold, classic American style IPA…..gorgeous colour, hoppy, almost malty citrus forward nose. Did I enjoy drinking this? Hell yeah!! Hoppy, bitter and citrus flavours, with the addition of a hot of Nectaron bring a little bite of stonefruit….beautifully drinking IPA.

How about some Good Vibrations….a kiwi NZ Pilsner, almost with a twist…showcasing @claytonhops_nz Innovation Project variety CIP 076, alongside @boldriverhops Wakatu and @freestylehops Motueka…again lovely colours with both tropical and citrus fruit on the nose. The palate had all the hallmarks of an excellent Pilsner but it had a depth of flavour that took it to another dimension, maybe a little bit of malt and bitterness at tjr back palate…..lovely lovely drop..

Finally, this Feijoa Fling Sour, now this ain’t like no other sour, due to the smart move of adding a kiwi staple; Feijoa’s…this is a punchy little number, slight tartness, hint of lime but it’s the magical perfume of the fruit that made this soooo good, apparently a pinch of salt at the end (although I didn’t get that) it was how beautiful the fruit was handled bringing this amazing Sour tou have to taste.

Cheers to the amazing team at @thiefbrewing for graciously gifting them to me, always appreciated to drink such well made beers. Go find them and try them for yourself!!

A month ago we brewed our Local Drop Fresh Hop Golden Ale with the freshest hops possible, harvested at @boldriverhops and immediately driven back to the brewery by mum & dad so they could go straight into the boil. We’re celebrating Fresh Hop Harvest Season with the Fresh Hop On and Off Bus tour from our taproom to @threeboysbrewery and @beerbaronessnz at @pomeroyspub tomorrow 2 May! Bus runs 12-8pm, we’re open 12-9pm 🍻

@renaissancebrewing - Fresh Hop Hazy IPA 5.8%

🌱The second fresh hop from Renaissance has them adding a whole lot of fresh Riwaka from @boldriverhops upon a soft juicy base.

🍻 Juicy, sweet citrus with a touch of bitter on the exit. Riwaka is there swirling around too. A lovely NZ hazy.

@renaissancebrewing 2nd Fresh Hop release with Fresh Riwaka cones from @boldriverhops and it’s a goodie!

Lovely example with classic Riwaka vibes from the very first sip - Grapefruit, Citrus, Fresh Cut Grass, Tropical Notes with a smooth, juicy mouthfeel.
Some greenness/diesel notes present too.

All up, drinks very nicely🙌
