Ten years. Four elements. One stage.

Introducing THE ELEMENTS, BollyOn Studios Malaysia’s 10th anniversary student dance showcase!

Inspired by the four forces of nature, Fire, Water, Air and Earth, each represents a different energy that makes us who we are

🔥Fire represents passion
💧Water represents flow
🌬️Air represents freedom
🌱and Earth represents strength.

Together, they reflect the many qualities, energies and expressions that make not only our, but every dance journey unique.

Behind every performance are hours of practice, countless rehearsals, challenges, friendships, and the courage to step onto a stage and give it your all. This is a chance for our students to share their hard work, celebrate how far they’ve come, and create memories they’ll carry with them long after the curtains close.

Ten years of BollyOn is not just about how far we’ve come as a studio. It’s about every student, every teacher, and every person who has been part of this journey and the history we have created.

Grateful to be celebrating the first decade of BollyOn, a name that has truly grown into something much bigger than just dance ✨

10 years in business
10 years of ups and downs
10 years in the school of hard knocks
10 years to create something that now, many believe in

10 years of surviving through personal seasons of change and loss
10 years of building a team
10 years is a long long long time

I wonder what it would have been like if I gave up
I wonder if I'd be looking at another company that would have been built in that time thinking - "Damn, I had that idea. I could have done that"

10 years started with 1 day, 1 week, 1 month and 1 year - small wins and massive amounts of perseverance

I wanted to give up many times, see I'm human too
I'm not here to tell you only the glorious stories, but to take a moment to understand the challenges I've had to push through (with my team) to get here

At some point of this journey I realised, yes this is business and we need to make money too, but it's bigger than me. See, this isn't just for me. It is for what I want to leave behind for generations to come.

A space to come back to yourself
to your body
to your breath
to your home
to your roots

It’s funny how something you love so much can sometimes make you want to cry. 🥹♥️

Maula Maula made me feel sooo beautiful… and then Do Dhaari Talwar came along and humbled me REAL quick 😂😭 I was genuinely SO excited for this class. But nothing was clicking, and the more I struggled, the more frustrated I got with myself. Behind that big smile, I was honestly trying reallyyyy hard to hold it together.

And then there was @dharmiksamani 🥹♥️
So patient, so encouraging, and somehow still believing I could do it when I’d pretty much given up on myself. I don’t think he realises how much his kindness meant to me that day. That lil reassuring pat at the end? My hearttt. 🥹♥️

And my dance girlies! 🥹♥️ The way you girls kept encouraging me, cheering me on and showering me with so much love even when I’d given up on myself. Sooo grateful for you girls! 🫶🏼

Watching this back, honestly, I laughed SO hard 😂 But a little part of me also felt sad for how hard I was being on myself that day. I was trying my best, and why couldn’t I just let that be enough?

I dance because it makes me happy. Not because I’m amazing at it, not because I get every step right, but simply because I love it. And somewhere in all that frustration, I’d forgotten that.

So here’s a little reminder to myself (and to whoever reading this) to be kinder, laugh at the messy moments, and never let the pressure of getting something right take away the joy of doing something you love. 🥹♥️

And Dharmik Sir, thank you for being such a gem. You made a difficult moment feel a whole lot lighter and full of laughter 🫶🏼

The class that gave me trauma 🫠 [NOT because of the teacher!]

I genuinely thought I completely messed this up. The second showcase especially. I stopped dancing halfway and just couldn’t continue. I wanted to disappear, run away, and honestly almost gave up on the whole thing.

But watching this back now, I realise it really wasn’t as bad as it felt that day. A few hiccups, yes. But definitely not the disaster I thought it was 🥹

Funny how, in that moment, everything feels 10x worse than it actually is.

Definitely one I’ll remember for a long long time. And maybe one day I’ll laugh about how badly I wanted to run away 😭

@dharmiksamani literally set the tone from the very start ⚔️🔥

The whole choreography in just 30 minutes, broken down so well that it felt a bit easier to pick up! He’s cool, energetic, insanely talented, hilarious…basically the full package 😂

And honestly, I never expected he’d pick us to dance together, but it turned out to be such a fun experience! Thank you for bringing such amazing energy to the room and turning the class into a whole Bollywood party 🪩💃🏽🕺🏽
