When Nandini’s Dakla workshop was announced, I took ONE look at the choreography and said ABSOLUTELY NOT. 😂😭

The speed? The footwork? The audacity of thinking my body could keep up?! NO THANK YOU 😂

But my girlies clearly had other plans and somehow convinced me to sign up. And honestly? SO glad they did! 🥹♥️

Was I lost at times? Veryyy 😂 But was I having the best time? ABSOLUTELY! Two hours to learn all that choreography is no joke, and watching this back, I’m actually sooo proud of how it all came together. 🥹💃🏻

The video? A little chaotic, with people popping in and out of my frame 😂 But the memories? SO worth it! ♥️

Thank you @pillaii.nandinii for such a fun, high-energy class and all those Garba feels! Come back to Malaysia soon! And to my girlies, thank you for convincing me to do something I was so sure I couldn’t. 🥹🫶🏼

Sometimes the best memories come from the things you almost talked yourself out of. ♥️

10 years in business
10 years of ups and downs
10 years in the school of hard knocks
10 years to create something that now, many believe in

10 years of surviving through personal seasons of change and loss
10 years of building a team
10 years is a long long long time

I wonder what it would have been like if I gave up
I wonder if I'd be looking at another company that would have been built in that time thinking - "Damn, I had that idea. I could have done that"

10 years started with 1 day, 1 week, 1 month and 1 year - small wins and massive amounts of perseverance

I wanted to give up many times, see I'm human too
I'm not here to tell you only the glorious stories, but to take a moment to understand the challenges I've had to push through (with my team) to get here

At some point of this journey I realised, yes this is business and we need to make money too, but it's bigger than me. See, this isn't just for me. It is for what I want to leave behind for generations to come.

A space to come back to yourself

to your breath
to your home

It’s funny how something you love so much can sometimes make you want to cry. 🥹♥️

Maula Maula made me feel sooo beautiful… and then Do Dhaari Talwar came along and humbled me REAL quick 😂😭 I was genuinely SO excited for this class. But nothing was clicking, and the more I struggled, the more frustrated I got with myself. Behind that big smile, I was honestly trying reallyyyy hard to hold it together.

And then there was @dharmiksamani 🥹♥️
So patient, so encouraging, and somehow still believing I could do it when I’d pretty much given up on myself. I don’t think he realises how much his kindness meant to me that day. That lil reassuring pat at the end? My hearttt. 🥹♥️

And my dance girlies! 🥹♥️ The way you girls kept encouraging me, cheering me on and showering me with so much love even when I’d given up on myself. Sooo grateful for you girls! 🫶🏼

Watching this back, honestly, I laughed SO hard 😂 But a little part of me also felt sad for how hard I was being on myself that day. I was trying my best, and why couldn’t I just let that be enough?

I dance because it makes me happy. Not because I’m amazing at it, not because I get every step right, but simply because I love it. And somewhere in all that frustration, I’d forgotten that.

So here’s a little reminder to myself (and to whoever reading this) to be kinder, laugh at the messy moments, and never let the pressure of getting something right take away the joy of doing something you love. 🥹♥️

And Dharmik Sir, thank you for being such a gem. You made a difficult moment feel a whole lot lighter and full of laughter 🫶🏼

If you told the 2025 Sukriya that this would be her birthday post a year later, she probably wouldn’t believe you 🫠

Dancing happily, doing something she loves, and feeling more like herself along the way.

What a beautiful year it has been. Not because everything was perfect, but because somewhere along the way, I found more reasons to do the things that make me happy. To put myself out there, to keep learning, and to enjoy the process without overthinking every little thing 🥹

And I have to say, this piece wouldn’t have been possible without the way it was taught. The attention to detail, the breakdown of every step, the little things that make all the difference. Such an incredible experience learning from the best @dharmiksamani ✨️🫶

Here’s to another year of making room for the things that excite me, challenge me, scare me a little, and make me feel most like myself.
