When people see a rescue dog happily settled into their forever home, they often don’t see the incredible team of people who helped make that journey possible.

Over the past few weeks, Burt has had quite the adventure. He travelled to Bondi Vet Hospital to see the amazing Dr Mary for his BOAS surgery, a procedure that will help him breathe easier and enjoy life so much more.

While recovering, Burt was welcomed into the homes of wonderful North Shore Dog Rescue carers who opened their hearts and homes to him, making sure he could attend his follow-up appointments and heal safely.

After a week in Sydney, Burt made the trip back to Newcastle where another dedicated carer stepped in to continue his recovery journey before he eventually will return to me. Every hand-off, every car ride, every vet appointment, every overnight stay, every medication schedule, every cuddle, and every check-in was made possible by people who simply wanted the best for one little dog.

This is the part of rescue that many people never see.
Behind every successful adoption is a village of compassionate humans volunteering their time, homes, vehicles, energy and love. Foster carers, transport volunteers, rescue coordinators, veterinary teams, donors and supporters all play a role in helping dogs like Burt get a second chance.

And the beautiful thing is that the dogs notice.

Burt has met so many wonderful people throughout his journey, and every one of them has shown him kindness, patience and love. Rescue teaches dogs that life can be different, that people can be trusted, and that the grass really is greener on the other side.

Now, with his surgery behind him and his recovery going beautifully, we’re hoping the next chapter in Burt’s story is finding the loving family and forever home he truly deserves. ❤️

To everyone who has been part of Burt’s journey so far, thank you. You may only have been one small part of his story, but together you’ve changed his entire life.

Here’s to the next stop on Burt’s adventure... his forever home. by @bondivethospital

Tickets are officially open. 🍸🐾
@puptailsociety is bringing an Australian first to Brisbane: a luxury dining experience designed for dogs and their humans, on at Crystalbrook Vincent on the 24th and 25th of September.

Think a four-course degustation for you, a three-course canine tasting menu for your dog, Puptails pairings all evening, and a welcome cocktail to start things off right. It’s the kind of night made to be shared, photographed and properly enjoyed, by both ends of the lead.

And because giving back matters, $10 from every ticket sold goes straight to Pug Patrol, supporting rescue dogs in need.
Spaces are limited, so don’t sit on this one. Go to @puptailsociety for the ticket link in bio!

For once, we were happy that little Charlie ate chocolate because his mum rushed him in to be made sick, and unbeknownst to her, Charlie had actually been tucking into some Woolies Ooshies!
He wasn’t proud of himself, but unsure if it’ll be the last time! 🍫 👾 taken in Bondi Vet Hospital by @bondivethospital

Dr Kate’s favourite Puptails blend? Bondi Spritz of course! It’s pink, AND it’s basically self-care in a pouch for your dog. But the @puptailsociety itself is way more than a dog mocktail, it’s a whole community celebrating the bond between dogs and their people ❤️

And it turns out the next fine dining experience for dogs is in BRISBANE ❤️👏🏻🐶

A very good girl - Luna came in for her desexing procedure today. With some tricking of treats and so much love from the team, she went home with a belly full of snacks and a wagging tail ❤️ taken in Sydney, Australia by @bondivethospital
