Final night in Rome, and my trip. Had another fabulous dinner which included fried artichokes and lambchops. We all had a spoonful of dessert, warm apple tart and pistachio cheesecake that just tasted like a bowl of whipped cream. Then a farewell cocktail.. we had NO idea there would be food!! I didn't have a bite, too full from dinner. Met some wonderful people on this trip, including our absolutely amazing tour guide, Francesca. Some sights seen walking around Rome today. Toured the Eternal City's grand piazzas that included the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon, and the Baroque Piazza Navona.
Then it was off to explore. I headed to the Grand Synagogue and Jewish museum for a tour. Walked around the Jewish ghetto and then back to my hotel which was about an hour walk. #italy #rome #tourist

Spent the morning touring the ruins of Pompeii. Quite an extraordinary experience! Those stone beds in the city's brothel looked oh so comfortable! #NOT

Today, a stunning drive through the rugged Amalfi Coast, with its dramatic landscapes and amazing panoramas, is one of the most spectacular drives in the world. Along the road, famous for its narrow curves and hairpin bends, we saw enchanting villages, cliffs terraced with lemon groves, whitewashed villas, and sparkling turquoise seas.
A quick stop in Positano and a stop in Amalfi, named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we literally did nothing but walk, shop and eat starting with a delicious cuoppo, a deep fried cone filled with fish, squid shrimp and god knows what else. Then it was time for a cappuccino and pastry. Another full day that included bus rides, ferries, chairlift, funicolars, and boats! We spent a full day touring the enchanting and picturesque Isle of Capri.
Started with a walk through the narrow lanes of Anacapri, with its chic boutiques and shops offering tastings of the island's famous limoncello and yummy chocolate.
I took the chairlift way up to the top of the mountain and it did not disappoint with stunning 360 degree views of the entire region.
Then off to La Piazzetta and to the Gardens of Augustus, a natural paradise, from where we saw more views of the sea and the famous Faraglioni rock formations, one of the island's natural wonders. Then we were off on a boat tour of the entire isle, which included close up views of the rocks, grottos and stunning turquoise waters!
