Our bedroom makeover, from start to finish! 😍

In autumn 2024, my boyfriend Nicklas and I bought our first home together. We spent the next year renovating, and now I’m finally sharing the rooms we’ve worked on. You’ve already seen the home library, and now it's the bedroom’s turn.

This room turned out to be quite the project, with a few unexpected twists and turns along the way. But I’m SO pleased with the result! Swipe 👉 to see how we went from ripping literally everything out to creating the cozy cocoon I’ve been dreaming of.

I’ve also included details on the paint, furniture and decor in case you feel inspired to try some DIY projects yourself. 🤭

Do you think the color drenching was the right choice? 👀

If there’s one thriller you should read this year, it’s Gray After Dark. 😱

Oh, this was INTENSE. One of very few mystery thrillers I’ve given 5☆, and one I remember the feeling of reading despite it being months ago.

We follow a woman used to compete in running, but after an accident leaves her injured, she takes a job at a mountain lodge while she recovers. Then, during a morning run, she’s abducted. From there, we’re trapped with her in an off-grid cabin as the nightmare escalates.

And I literally loved 👏🏼 every 👏🏼 second 👏🏼 of it.

● The abductors are terrifying, because they feel real. Not exaggerated, not pushed towards redemption, but just deeply disturbing people whose violence and misogyny makes every interaction with them tense.

● The atmosphere is suffocating, and the whole book feels horribly claustrophobic.

● The tension is relentless. There’s this constant feeling that something is about to happen, and when it does you still draw in a breath because it’s worse than you imagined.

● The protagonist is fantastic. She’s resilient, resourceful and determined to survive, but she never feels unrealistically invincible.

● It’s SO addictive. The kind of thriller where you just NEED to know what happens next.

Overall, delightfully dark, brutal and unpredictable. I spent the entire book STRESSED, but in the best of ways. Read it. Just… trust me. 🥵✌🏻

You already know I have questionable self-control when it comes to book buying, so let’s just skip right past that and get straight to the important stuff: I got new books to show you from the last couple of days. FUN! 😅

It’s quite a good mixture this time! Two fantasy, three romance, one general fiction, one mystery and one thriller.

My toxic trait, though, is getting ridiculously excited about all of these and genuinely feeling like I’m going to pick one of them up next, and simultaneously knowing myself well enough to realize there’s a very real chance they’ll end up collecting dust on my shelves for months before I glance at them again. So, help me: is there any title that I should bump up on my TBR? 👀

After a lifetime of having my books in piles on the floor, I finally have my very own home library. 🥹

Nicklas and I met in 2018. Autumn 2024, we bought a house together (my first self-owned home!). On April 24th 2026, we moved in after more than a year of renovations, including creating my home library. And now I want to show you the full step-by-step of how we did it!

Swipe 👉 through to see how we turned two ordinary rooms into a library. From the first bit of demolition and an absurd amount of sanding to the built-in bookcases, dark green walls and finishing touches.

You guys have been such a huge source of encouragement throughout this whole project. Your kind words, pep talks and excitement kept us going more times than I can count, and I’m honestly so grateful for it. 🧡

I feel like I’ve been living under a rock lately. 😅

I used to keep track of book releases, preorder them months in advance and add titles to my TBR like it was a full-time job. But now they just randomly appear on my radar and I’m like “WAIT… THAT series is getting a sequel?!” and “HOW did I not know this author had another book coming?”.

So clearly, I need your help. 👀

1️⃣ What are your favorite 2026 releases so far that I absolutely need to read?
2️⃣ What upcoming 2026/2027-books are you most excited about?

Give me all the titles, in all the genres, that I might have missed and MUST get to! 😍

This is my first time joining a trend, but I just HAD to. I spend so much time sharing the books I’ve recently read, that my all-time favorites don’t get the attention they deserve from me. So this was the perfect excuse to give them their little moment in the spotlight. ✨📣

Are any of these your favorites as well? 😍

The hardest part was honestly trying to fit them all into one picture. My heart hurts a little about the ones I had to leave out. 🥲 Shoutout to Mistborn, East of Eden, Every Day, Iron Widow, Animal Farm, Eliza and Her Monsters, The Poet Empress, Vinland Saga and Goodnight Mister Tom.

Have you ever read a book (or series) that you kiiind of liked… but also kind of didn’t? 😅

For me, it’s the Powerless trilogy. 🫣

I don’t really like the term "guilty pleasure", because I don’t think anyone should feel guilty about what they enjoy reading. But if I had to describe my experience with this series, that’s probably the closest I get.

It’s so cliché. The plot is convenient, and I don’t know how many times I rolled my eyes at the overused tropes. There's so many predictable moments of "been there, done that" that I felt BORED. And honestly, despite finishing this series JUST NOW, I’m already starting to forget a lot of what happened.

And yet, I didn’t want to stop reading? 🫪

There was something almost frustratingly addictive about the pacing and the writing that kept pulling me back. And despite being so sure of what was going to happen next, I wanted to see it by myself.

Has a book ever done that to you? Being “objectively bad” but making you crave more? I’d love to hear what titles has made you this conflicted. 🤭

“If what we have is half, then we shall make it the very best half. I love you. It is enough. I shall never leave your side. Together, we are whole”. ✨

I finished Queen Charlotte today. It’s a standalone prequel set 50 years before the Bridgerton-books, following young Charlotte as she enters an arranged marriage with King George.

And what a WARM, heartfelt story it is. 🥹

Sweet, tender and filled with beautiful moments that I’m still thinking of OBSESSIVELY (especially the under-the-bed-scene. If you know, you know). Not just between our main couple, but also side characters like Agatha and Brimsley, whose stories are just as compelling.

Sure, the book doesn’t quite reach the emotional heights of the tv-series. The show absolutely DESTROYED me and was honestly as close to perfection as it gets. 👌🏻 The performances, the raw emotion, the music and the way the scenes were edited created an intensity that was impossible to recreate with words alone. While the book tells the story beautifully, it lacks some of that breathtaking tension and emotional punch.

And of course, it’s not historically accurate. But it’s not trying to be. If you can embrace it for the sweeping, romantic reimagining that it is, there’s so much to love. I had a wonderful time reading it, and will probably carry some of the scenes and quotes with me for a long time.

Have you watched Queen Charlotte? If you’ve experienced both the book and the show, which did you prefer? 🤔🥰

I own 27 bookcases, and every shelf is slowly becoming a little portrait of who I am. 😍

Before explain what I mean, let’s rewind a little.

I’m 30 years old, and three months ago I moved into my first own place.

Before that, I had moved between other people’s homes. Temporary spaces, that I’m grateful for being offered, but that weren’t mine. Because of that, I felt a bit limited in what I could do, and I never had the luxury of owning bookcases. Instead, the books I bought would end up packed away in boxes, tucked into wardrobes, lined up on windowsills or stacked in piles on the floor. Swipe 👉 to see a part of the chaos.

So having a home library now feels… SURREAL.

What I didn’t expect, though, was how much I would enjoy creating the space AROUND the books. Arranging them. Decorating the shelves. Switching, angling, adding and removing things. Never with the goal to impress others, but to show there is a person behind them.

I want SO BADLY to create a space filled with memories. To have things on my shelves that spark joy and reflect the different versions of myself over time. Each book and each trinket tell something about who I am and who have been. 🥹

That’s one of the reasons I keep finding myself standing in the middle of the room, just looking. Not necessarily because of the books themselves, even though I love them, of course. But because everything represents… me.

Do you have something on your bookshelf that says more about you than others might expect? 🤔🧡

An abused boy is evacuated from war-torn London and taken in by a lonely, old man in the countryside. 🏡🌱

This simple premise turned into one of THE MOST heartfelt reading experiences I’ve had in a long time. And that’s no small feat, considering I rarely pick up classics. While I’ve enjoyed some, I often find them slow and a little… dry. But Goodnight Mister Tom completely pulled me in.

I became SO emotionally invested in Will and Tom’s story. In watching a boy who had known so little kindness discover what it feels like to be cared for, protected and valued. Their relationship was the heart of the book for me, and seeing Will develop and understand that he deserved love was so beautiful, at the same time as it broke my heart. 🥺

I smiled. I wiggled my toes. I felt all warm and fuzzy. But I was also SO MAD and dangerously close to tears at times.

With all said and done... Despite being a quiet story, Goodnight Mister Tom left a DEEP mark.

What was the latest book that surprised you, becoming more meaningful than you expected? 🧡

Classics really intimidate me. 😅

They're such a hit or miss.

A lot of them just don't work for me. The language can feel dry, the pacing too slow, and I end up wondering what I'm missing. What's worse, sometimes it feels like I'm not "allowed" to dislike them, just because they are classics. People can get weirdly defensive and elitist about it, which makes it even scarier to try.

But every once in a while, a classic can completely blow me away. East of Eden did. So did Anne of Green Gables, Animal Farm, Heidi, A Little Princess and The Secret Garden.

I'm currently reading Goodnight Mister Tom, and am LOVE-LOVE-LOVING it, which makes me think I should reconsider my avoidance and give classics a chance more often. 🥰

Am I the only one who finds classics intimidating? Do you have any recommendations for "good ones" I should try? 🧡
