I looking forward to reading Belladonna, Lightlark, These Twisted Bonds and Violets Made of Thorns.

✨ Do you love when your favorite books also have gorgeous covers?

I’m obsessed with these books and these covers. I wanted to make a reel featuring a few of my favorite books written by some of my favorite Asian authors. I will never get enough of these and many of these books have sequels I cannot wait for!! I’ll be making a part 2 later to show off some more books and authors.

I also hope everyone’s having a lovely weekend 😊

šŸŒ™ Have you bought any special editions recently? Or are there any you’re looking forward to?

I think my last special edition was Fairyloot’s Daughter of the Pirate Queen books. I feel like most of my special editions just come from monthly sub boxes and then I usually purchase the sequels.

I cannot even put into words how excited I am for Heart of the Sun Warrior. And I can’t wait to order the stunning Fairyloot edition. The color palette and edges are so gorgeous!! I can’t wait to see how it looks next to Daughter of the Moon Goddess. Also I’m hoping Fairyloot does a matching mug for book 2 because this one matches book 1 so well šŸ˜‚ by @bookish.reader.elle

šŸ–Šļø Did you ever take any trips while you were in school?

I was able to go to Washington D.C. in middle school and honestly I can’t imagine now being an adult taking 50 middle schoolers on a trip like that 🤣

šŸ”„ Escaping Religious Control

An emotional, forbidden New Adult romance
I was raised to believe the danger lived outside our walls. And Ford James looked like the most dangerous thing of all.

I’ve spent my entire life inside Bright Covenant — a religious community with rules for everything, a place where questions aren’t allowed. When my family is sent to heal Westside, a small Florida beach town, I arrive certain of two things: the world outside is exactly as dangerous as I was warned, and Ford James — who vandalized our home before we’d even unpacked — is proof.

He’s the reason I had to leave home during my final year of school. He’s the reason half the senior class wants me gone. But he also makes me question everything I know, and want things I’ve never wanted before—things I’m meant to save for my husband.

Come June, I board a plane to Bolivia, and will return engaged to a member of Bright Covenant.

Which means I have one year to decide if Ford James is really the villain. Or worth burning my world down for.

🦊 What other hobbies do you enjoy besides reading?

I love knitting. I’m still fairly new to it but there’s something really relaxing about it. lately I’ve been listening to audiobooks while I knit to double up on both my favorite hobbies.

I’m currently knitting a Sophie shawl by Petiteknits using this amazing yarn by Sewrella they are one of my favorite companies and this colorway Death By a Thousand Cuts matched so perfectly with my copy of The Mirror of Infinite Endings by Stephanie Garber I just had to share them together! I love the stories Stephanie creates and can never get enough of Evangeline and Jacks. by @bookish.reader.elle

šŸ¦ā€ā¬› What’s the last book you finished and would you recommend it?

Harbinger by Geneva Lee was an intriguing and exciting book. I enjoyed the unique magic and anytime there’s a major mystery surrounding the main characters I have to know more. I’ve read a few of Geneva’s other books and this was my favorite so far. I think fans of Shield of Sparrows / that series would enjoy this one. It gave me very similar vibes and I really enjoyed Shield of Sparrows.

šŸŽļø What is your favorite sport featured in a sports romance?

I like watching hockey so I think I’ve read the most hockey romances but I’m really interested in F1 and trying out racing romances!

The Fast Track by Angelica Cheng

Justine Kwong has always dreamed of becoming a Formula 1 champion. There’s just one problem: no female driver has ever done it before. So when she’s offered a coveted chance to race in Formula 3, she leaps at the opportunity. Sure, half the fans think she’s just there to fill a diversity quota, and her teammate—the infuriatingly cute Cameron Evans—mistakes her for an intern, but Justine knows her talent will leave them all in the dust.

But driving well isn’t the only prerequisite to getting noticed, and Justine’s forced to fend for herself in a sea of prejudice, paparazzi, and petty backstabbing. There’s a lot riding on her ability to navigate the complicated trackside hierarchy—like the open F2 seat that could be her ticket to the big leagues.

Except…when Justine and Cameron’s bickering gives way to unexpected chemistry, the boy she’s falling for may be the one person standing in the way of her dreams—because while they may be teammates, they are also each other’s biggest competitor. And with her only shot at glory on the line, this race could break more than just hearts.

šŸ What does the weather look like for you right now?

Well technically right now it’s insanely hot because I’m in Hawai’i on vacation but I can’t wait to get back to fall weather I’m not cut out for tropical heat and this much sweating all the time but it has been an absolutely amazing time.

I love all things autumn and the changing of the leaves and the weather cooling off. My mood reading changes with the seasons too I love creepy and cozy books that just give me all cooler weather vibes. The Dream Harbor Series is so fun because the books take you through all the seasons as you read them. The Cinnamon Bun Book Store deluxe edition is quintessentially fall to me. by @bookish.reader.elle

šŸ¦‰It’s Dead Beat Day!! I’ve been waiting for today all year I feel like. I love this series so much and I’m so excited and nervous for the ending.

Do you reread series when they are finished?

It depends on how long the series is or if I like the series a lot I think. I definitely want to read this series from start to finish after I finish Dead Beat! I’m about halfway through Dead Beat and absolutely loving it so far. by @bookish.reader.elle

šŸ’œ Are you still enjoying why choose romances?

I feel like it’s definitely been a fun change from love triangles and helps take the pressure off choosing your favorite love interest!

Blade of Two Faces by Blake Blessings coming November 17, 2026

Never send a man to do a woman’s job. Mulan meets Gladiator in this explosive why-choose romantasy!

When I fled from the rotting kingdom of Mador, there was only one thought on my mind―survive.

For too long the king, my brother, has kept me underneath his iron rule, his abuse, and after years as his captive I’ve finally escaped… barely.

But the outside world may be no better…

The world’s provinces are colliding in the Imperial Trials―offering men a chance to compete for their mate… and the crown.

If there’s any hope for a new life, I’ll have no choice but to hide right in the middle of it.

My greatest threats? Four ruthless heirs, each with a hidden agenda of their own. Not that it matters.

I’ll enjoy being their ruin.

May the most cunning and ruthless candidate win―or die trying.

This is a dark romance with trigger warnings. I’ll try to update them as I read them in my review.

🌌 Do your reading preferences change with the seasons?

As a mood reader I love reading books that match the seasons. I’m ready for more thrillers and spooky books as fall approaches. I cannot wait to read It Looks Like You in the Dark. I absolutely loved visiting Alaska and love books featuring folklore and supernatural thrills.

It Looks Like You in the Dark by Mathilda Zeller coming October 13, 2026

It Looks Like You in the Dark is a propulsive Indigenous horror debut, expertly blending Alaskan Native folklore and supernatural thrills, from Mathilda Zeller, author of the acclaimed short story ā€œKushtukaā€ featured in the bestselling horror anthology, Never Whistle at Night.
