Oh look — finally a post 😅
Happy New Year, friends!
I didn’t post a single picture in December, despite my best intentions to take advantage of the variety of Christmasy backgrounds. So many lost opportunities 🙈
But here’s a simple pic of my current read, which is so pretty it barely needs any accessorizing 😍

Do you treat yourself when you feel unwell? I don’t always do that but I have definitely needed several mood boosts lately and have found myself making small impulse purchases more frequently than usual 😅 Two of them are on the top of this book stack here 😊

Hello, bookish friends 💜
How are things?
Here it’s cold and I’ve overused my spoons and slipped back into a flare, so I’m allowing myself to rest today (with almost no guilt, work in progress) and have decided to curl up with a steaming hot cup of gingerbread chai from @birdandblendtea and What Wakes The Bells by @zipitelle which was my birthday gift from @scottishgirltraveller. And I’m using this excellent metal bookmark I got from @ceridwennreads for my birthday 🥰
It’s a whole “make Elisa comfy” teamwork in this joint 😄

Shout out to Mate, because even though it was slightly disappointing, I was also the first book that I read at a good pace this month and I think it helped me step a bit further out of the slump that darkened my reading mood for the first couple of weeks of October 📚

Hello there friends, how are you?
I’m recovering from a virus so I’ve decided to take the day off from everything but the bare minimum, and have zero regrets.
I’ve recently emerged from a bit of a slump with the help of my last two reads, and I want to avoid falling back at all costs! so between that and the fatigue I am very much in a “DNF anything that doesn’t work” mood. I’ve set aside 3 books today and again, I have zero regrets. Sometimes they are not the right read for now, other times you can just tell they won’t be the right read for you, period.
However that was a blessing in disguise because I’ve now landed on this absolute pearl and I’m having so much fun with it!

Hello friends, Happy Saturday!
Today was book swap day for me, and it was especially lovely because nearly all my local bookish friends were there! We swapped and chatted over coffee, then some of us went to lunch together.
And I came home with nearly as many books as I left with 😅
This was my haul for today — two of these I’ve already read but two generous friends offered me special editions they were unhauling and I couldn’t say no ☺️ So only three new books added to my TBR, which is good because I’m feeling a bit slumpy/(book-)hungover after my last read so I don’t know how much progress I’ll have made on my TBR by the time the month ends 🙈

Hello friends, happy Sunday!
I just finished rereading this book, Dark Skies — it’s the second volume in the Dark Shores series, and the more I progress on this reread the more it confirms this series as one of my favorites.
The world just swept me right back up as if I’d never been away, and meeting the characters again felt like finally reuniting with long-lost friends 🥹
Aaaahhh what a wonderful adventure good books can be. I am so grateful for @acourtofbooksandchocolate for talking my ear off about this series until I finally read it (back in 2023!) 😁🥰
If you like strong characters, adventure, fascinating worlds and emotional journeys, I cannot recommend it enough. And the last book just came out so it is now a completed series! If you start it now you could read all the books in a row (and you’ll likely want to). You lucky thing, you 😁😘

What percentage of your reads, would you say, is made up of books recommended to you by friends?
My newest read, Give Me Butterflies, was recommended to me by my friend @bigbogz over coffee a couple of months ago, and I’m finally getting around to reading it!
I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with an Entomologist as the MC 🐞🪲🦋

Happy Tuesday, friends 💜
I’m currently dealing with a small slump, so I decided to set everything else down and focus on reading things that bring me joy and relaxation, like my reread of the Lovelight series, webtoons, maybe some fanfic (I have a fab AFTG fanfic TBR courtesy of @lindsayreadingbooks 💜)
I’ve also been watching Spy Family and Heaven’s Official Blessing on Crunchyroll.
In other words, I’m entirely mood-driven at the moment, which is a problem because my parenting duties require me to read A Streetcar Named Desire to assist with exam prep 😝
