POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
📚 2-2-2 TAG 📚

Thank you @bookshelvesandtealeaves for tagging me in this challenge a while ago!

Sorry for the almost-radio-silence over the last week, but I've been enjoying time in Disneyland, Paris and now at the beach 😊 Now that we're settled here for the next few days, I'm going to try to be back on here for a bit!

(This said - my girlfriend and I are currently sharing my phone because hers decided to fully stop working the first night here at the seaside, so I'm still going to be very on and off)

Anyway, back to the stack:

Two books I want to read:
🤍 All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir
💙 Forging Silver Into Stars by Brigid Kemmerer

Two books I bought/got recently:
🤍 This Book Is Gay by Juno Dawson
💙 Zhara by S. Jae-Jones (just started the audiobook of this!)

Two books I can't stop thinking about:
🤍 The Poet Empress by Shen Tao (OF COURSE!!)
💙 Faebound by Saara el-Arifi

I'm tagging a few friends to join the fun, but no pressure as always!

❓️ What's a book you'd use to answer any of these prompts? Or what have you been up to over the past week?

P. S. Scroll to the next pics for a glimpse into the past few days of holidays ☀️

📚 The ARC challenge & Flatlay Friday 📚

First of all - look at me ACTUALLY managing to post a flatlay on a Friday! Woohoo!! It features books that I read as ARCs and then got beautiful shelf trophies of.

I saw @bookish.girl82 do this recently and thought it was such a fun idea, so I had to give it a go as well! My journey with ARC reading started in January 2024 and I've been loving every moment of it (even when I accidentally overrun my TBR with deadlines 🫣).

📖 The first ARC I was approved for was @d.hawkinsauthor's Not In The Plan - such a fun read! Three books later, and I'm about to read her fourth romance next week 😍

📖 The last ARC I was approved for (a couple of days ago) was Kate Dylan's Before We Collide, sequel to Until We Shatter. I'm curious to see how the story will continue!

📖 The last ARC I read was The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst. I loved returning to that enchanting, cozy world ✨️

📖 The next ARC I'm planning to read is Alchemy and A Cup of Tea by Rebecca Thorne, the (I think??) final chapter of the Tea and Tomes saga.

📖 The most surprising approval was The Lotus Empire by Tasha Suri, because it was the first time I was accepted for an ARC of one of my overall favourite authors and it took me so by surprise 🥰

📖 The most exciting approvals... that one's hard, as there's been so many! Two that stand out in my mind have been The Lotus Empire (again) and Drown Me With Dreams by Gabi Burton - my two most anticipated releases of 2024. There's been lots of super exciting ones, though!!

I'm tagging a few ARC-reading friends to join the fun, but no pressure, as always. And please consider yourselves tagged if you aren't but like to have a go!

❓️ What was the very first ARC you received? If you don't read ARCs, what is your next read?

🏳️‍🌈📚 Queer recs from booksta friends 📚🏳️‍🌈

Check out this list of awesome queer books recommended by friends here on Booksta! It includes a variety of genres (with a prevalence of romance and fantasy) and queer rep, as well as both YA and adult titles 💜

Thank you to all the wonderful people who participated in this post! And an extra thanks to those who had to resubmit to help me avoid duplicate recs 👀 You can find all the books that got nominated more than once on the cover slide of this post!

Also - Insta only lets me tag 20 accounts, so the last (but not least!!) 5 accounts I couldn't tag are below:
@katreadssapphicbooks
@into_the_bookish_wild
@blossomsleafylibrary
@spellsandtomes
@aurum.reads

Oh, and since I made everyone make tough choices and only pick max. 2 titles, I thought I should make myself do that, too. I'll go with:

🏳️‍🌈 The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri (sapphic epic fantasy with morally-grey, stabby heroines)
🏳️‍🌈 Love & Other Disasters by Anita Kelly (cooking show romance, pan & non-binary rep)

My TBR has definitely grown quite a bit thanks to all of your recs, and I hope you all find books you might love!

❓️ Has any book on here caught your eye? Or would you have others to recommend?

it’s my birthday, and in honour of the fact that i’m turning 25, i’m gonna share some fun facts that absolutely nobody asked for but that you’re going to get anyway ✨

🎂 i got rid of my glasses. well, not permanently. i’ve got contacts. which is kinda weird bc i’m trying to reconcile what i look like now. so i occasionally look in the mirror and think, hmm, who is this serial killer looking back at me? someone call the police

🎂 i am obsessed with halloumi. like obsessed. if i’m out at a restaurant and there’s anything remotely halloumi involved in the menu, you can be sure it’s going to be ordered. i would literally sacrifice my whole entire family and maybe even the whole world just for halloumi. scratch the maybe. i would sacrifice the whole world

🎂 i get in these strange moods sometimes where i’ll become very obsessed with a random conspiracy theory and will go to town researching it. some of the prominent ones are the conspiracies into the deaths of marilyn monroe and princess diana. i’m convinced i’m some kind of detective after watching one documentary 😭
