Collins has experienced an unimaginable loss, and it’s completely understandable that she struggles with the idea of moving forward after losing her husband. Meanwhile, Ansel was Caleb’s best friend and was there when Caleb was mortally injured in a fire. He made a promise to himself to look after Collins, but neither of them expected that promise to lead to something more. The connection between Ansel and Collins was already there, and their attraction to one another was undeniable. But with their shared history and the love they both had for Caleb, taking that next step felt like a betrayal. I loved watching them navigate those complicated feelings and slowly realize that moving forward doesn't mean forgetting the person they lost. One of my favorite parts of this story was seeing Ansel come alongside Collins and help her learn how to live again instead of simply surviving her grief. I absolutely loved watching Collins come into her own, reclaim her life, and begin looking toward the future rather than remaining buried in the past. These two worked together to heal, grow, and find a love neither of them expected. Their journey was emotional, heartfelt, and such a beautiful reminder that opening your heart to love again doesn't erase the love you've already experienced. There were definitely some things I did NOT see coming! I'm not saying a word because you need to experience those moments for yourself. Just go read it! His original plan is to sell the practice and move onβ€”he definitely never planned on putting down roots in this small town. Harper is such a people pleaser, but she’s also incredibly caring and devoted to her family. She’s spent so much of her life being the caretaker, especially when it comes to her father, and I really loved getting to see that side of her. Then Harper finds herself in one VERY awkward situation with her cheating ex-fiancé, and a little lie turns into a fake relationship with the broody, sexy doctor who just happens to need the town to like him. What starts as an arrangement to help them both quickly becomes something neither of them expected. Because fake dating is all fun and games until the feelings become very real. Both Harper and Ares have their own struggles with trust, and I really loved watching them slowly learn to lean on and support one another. Their chemistry was absolutely undeniable, but it was the emotional connection between them that really got me. As always Corinne writes the perfect mix of romance humor, emotion and spice. She does this SO well. I love how she creates these communities where you genuinely feel connected to the characters. You don’t just read about their emotions, ou feel them right alongside them. She always manages to pull me into her stories, create characters I become completely invested in, and have me hooked from the very first page. Bass and Blair definitely got off to a rocky start. Blair arrives in Blue Sky Bay with a mission: convince Bass to sell the restaurant he has worked so hard to build. Bass has no intention of giving it up, especially not to someone he sees as trying to ruin everything he has created. I absolutely loved their initial tension and all the back-and-forth between them. Even when they were determined to be enemies, there was an undeniable attraction simmering underneath it all. As their walls slowly started to come down, they realized they had much more in common than either of them expected. What started as a battle over a restaurant turned into a connection that was so much deeper, and I loved watching that relationship develop. The character development was one of my favorite parts of this story. I loved seeing Bass and Blair learn to understand each other, support one another, and realize that sometimes the person you thought was your enemy can become the person you can't imagine your life without. Piper Rayne proves once again why they are an auto-read author for me. Their characters are always so layered and complex while still being incredibly easy to love. As always I was invested in the story from page 1. Elliot is a single dad with a bit of a grumpy vibe, and I absolutely loved how protective he is of his daughter and his hometown. Then Emilia comes to town with a development company and threatens to change everything he loves about Echo Lake. To say they didn't start out on the right foot would be an understatement. I loved their banter and the chemistry between them, but one of my favorite things was how they communicated with each other. It took them some time to really open up, but I appreciated how honest they eventually became about their feelings, their fears, and their pasts. I really enjoyed watching both Elliot and Emilia grow individually and as a couple. The side characters were so much fun. I loved Baylor and her sweet heart. I loved the Thermos Crew, they had me laughing. Every book I have read by her, catches my attention from page one and this book was no different. This was such a fun book. Cassie is determined to start over after a terrible relationship, and I absolutely loved her strength and resilience. Watching her build a new life, connect with the sisters she never knew she had, and find her place in a new town had me rooting for her from the very beginning. Then there’s Noah. He’s grumpy, guarded, fiercely loyal to his mom and his hometown, and definitely not sure what to make of Cassie (she had a pretty unique introduction to this town). He has plenty of his own emotional wounds to work through, which made watching these two slowly open up to each other even more meaningful. The tension between Cassie and Noah was there from the beginning. These two may not see eye to eye, but their chemistry is impossible to ignore. I loved watching their relationship evolve from conflict and stubbornness into something deeper as they both began confronting their pasts and letting each other in. As always, Madison Score brings the perfect mix of humor, spice, romance, and found family. It was swoony, addictive, and had me completely wrapped up in Tyson and Josie's story from the very beginning. I absolutely loved their meet-cute when Josie's cat, Mouse, escapes the house. It was such a fun way to kick off their relationship. And Tyson, may officially be my favorite MMC in the Pembroke Hills universe (even though I loved them all). His confidence, charm, and the way he completely saw Josie had me kicking my feet giddy. I especially loved the whole β€œmuse” aspect of their relationship and how Tyson became the inspiration she needed, not just for her book, but in so many other ways. Their was undeniable chemistry. Throw in a billionaire romance dynamic made this such a fun read. It was the emotional connection and the way their relationship developed that really stole my heart. I always love seeing cameos of other characters from other books and series.
