POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Ooh, this was such a surprise! I don’t think I’ve ever really read an alien romance before. Actually, wait, I think I did read a YA one years ago and loved it. Shoutout to The Cage. But other than that, this is definitely not a genre I’ve explored much.

My sister recommended this one to me. She’s a big romance reader, and as with most of her recommendations, this was just so delightful.

It was such an easy, enjoyable read. The writing style is the kind you can just flow through. It doesn’t cost you anything to focus or keep turning the pages. It’s nice and fast-paced, and I flew through it.

And I actually really liked the romance! I can be pretty picky when it comes to romance, but I loved the way it was done here. I liked the FMC, I liked the MMC, and I liked how their relationship progressed. And there was no third act breakup, which I very much appreciated.

Overall, this was just such a fun, enjoyable read, and I’m definitely curious about the other books in the series now.

QOTD: have you ever read an alien romance?

The face I make when someone says “romance books aren’t real books”.

Romance is my second most read genre (after fantasy) and I’d have it no other way 😌

QOTD: do you prefer a happily ever after or not? 👀

Honestly, I haven’t heard a single negative thing about this book 👀 I’m so excited!

Fantasy lovers, listen up:
𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬
Vordell was beautiful once. Its people lived in harmony, and their civilization flourished as they learned to harness and control the power of Light.
Then the darkness came.

The Iron Sky unfolded dark clouds across the land. The ground cracked, releasing vicious creatures that looked like humanity’s oldest fears. The Dar’rak - an enemy long believed to be buried and forgotten - returned to claim the world above.

Soraya Tollmere has spent most of her life on the front lines of the brutal war that followed. Now a high-ranking commander, she knows loss better than anyone.

By day, she leads troops across ruined landscapes and guides covert teams through enemy territory. By night, she meets with a Dar’rak defector who has kept humanity alive with his steady stream of secrets.

On a mission to investigate his latest lead - one that could turn the tide of the war - Soraya is captured by The Demon, the Dar’rak’s most feared soldier.

His orders are simple: break the human commander, uncover where the humans are keeping a weapon that could win them the war, and bring it to the Dar’rak. But as he gets to know the fierce warrior, the lines between interrogator and enemy, prisoner and ally, begin to blur.

As devastating truths surface and loyalties shatter, Soraya must decide who to trust in a world where light is dying - and where her greatest enemy may be her only salvation.

After devouring The Legends of Thezmarr, I’m super excited to be able to read Kiss of the Black Flame early!
I just feel like this book will occupy every inch of my personality for a while 😂

𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞: 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟐𝐧𝐝

𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬:
Some bargains are sealed with blood. Others with fire. The deadliest are sealed with a kiss…

Saige Grayson has always believed stories could heal–even when her own body refuses to. As the most promising bookbinder in the capital, she’s learned to work through chronic pain and crushing debt, restoring other people’s treasures while trying not to fall apart herself.

But when the man she owes decides her rare talent is worth more than her payments, Saige is traded to the Azkari–an immortal race forged by the gods for war–and imprisoned in their ancient stronghold. Her only chance of survival lies with Archer, a fallen Azkari general imprisoned beside her–cursed, dangerous, and impossible to ignore. He offers her a way out, and in return, Saige must help him retrieve and restore an ancient book.

QOTD: What book are you looking forward to reading?

Some people fall in love with characters because they’re attractive.

I fall in love with the way they speak. 🙂‍↕️

This quote from Gleam by @ravenkennedybooks is exactly why I’ll never stop reading romantasy. 😍

✨ 𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 ❤️

On July 1st, @prhukexport celebrated the first Summer of Love, and it was so much fun!

Through an online Teams meeting, we got to hear about the newest and upcoming romance releases. I can tell you, my TBR has grown a lot. 🙂‍↕️

There were also a few chats with the romance authors! It was so nice to hear them talk about their books, which is so different from simply reading a synopsis.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗬𝗼𝘂 – 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗿
I’m actually so excited for this one. The FMC dies, and through some ✨ magical realism ✨, time rewinds and she’s back in her earlier years. Now, with the mind and wisdom of a 32-year-old, she gets to remake many of her choices, including a very important romantic one. 😏

𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 – 𝗝.𝗞. 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻
The FMC is the first-ever female F1 driver! I love the sound of that twist in a sports romance because how cool would that be? The way it was pitched made me so curious, so I can’t wait to see how this one turns out. 😍

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 – 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝘀
This one combines small-town romance with mystery. Catherine Cowles is an author I’ve seen around a lot, and hearing her talk about her books got me so excited. I love that there’s a mystery woven into the romance, it gives the story such a unique touch.

Luckily, this Summer of Love was only the first! There will be a second Summer of Love on 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝘁𝗵, so mark your calendars. We’ll get to hear about even more romance books that are sure to have us swooning and drooling. 🤤😂

Thank you so much for organizing this, @prhukexport ! 😍🫶🏽

QOTD: What romance did you recently read? 🥰

My most recent romance was Our Perfect Storm!

Your next fantasy obsession ✨

I devoured The Wolf King and The Night Prince last week and just had to make a post about it.

If you love books like ACOTAR and Dire Bound, these are RIGHT UP YOUR ALLEY.

I can’t wait for this series to continue 😍.

Pictured above is my Fairyloot edition of book 1.

Do you like romance in your books?

I DO. It’s not a must but I’m a sucker for romance so I often do enjoy those (sub)plots.

Throne of Glass, while primarily a fantasy, has a lot of amazing romance sub plots. This quote reflects one of them. 🥹
