Book 📖 Review - Kill For Me Kill For You
Author - Steve Cavanagh
Genre - Thriller
My rating - 4/5

It is a gripping unputdownable read.
The short chapters almost always end in a cliffhanger.
There are twists and turns galore.
A few I could see coming, and a few that completely knocked my socks off.
If you are a fan of twisty thrillers, then definitely give this a go!

Book 📖 Review - Kill Your Husbands
Author - Jack Heath
Genre - Thriller
My rating - 3.75/5

The premise is very intriguing •
The story is told in dual time lines and from the perspectives of each of the friends and the lead detective, adding to the suspense.
It took me a minute to get familiar with the multitude of characters.
The writing is simple and engaging.
It is a good popcorn thriller.

Book 📖 Review - Fruit Fly
Author - Josh Silver
Genre - Thriller
My rating - 3.75/5

The premise of the book is interesting.
I enjoyed the dark humour very much.
The book began with a lot of promise and rapid pacing, but lost its momentum in the middle, and managed to salvage the pace towards the end.
Although I am the perfect demographic for this book, it failed to dazzle me.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked the book, just didn’t love it as much as I wanted to.
If you enjoy satire and thrillers, give this a go!

Book 📖 Review - Shantaram
Author - Gregory David Roberts
Genre - Fiction
My rating - 5/5

This is a mesmerising epic read🤩
It is in part a pulse pounding thriller, vivid travel memoir and philosophical meditation.
It is an ode to humanity and resilience.
It was interesting to know that many parallels can be drawn between the life of the author and the protagonist.
It is an immersive read and the writing is engaging.
At around 1000 pages, this book is a commitment, but the pay off is very rewarding.
The narrator did an excellent job in bringing the story to life.

My favourite book of the month was Dolores Claiborne by Stephen King.
I watched 10 TV 📺 series and 8 movies🍿

Book 📖 Review - Saving Noah
Author - Lucinda Berry
Genre - Thriller
My rating - 4/5

It is a deeply unsettling read
It will be prudent to check the trigger warnings before reading it.
The courage of the author to tackle this extremely difficult subject is commendable,
Told from the perspective of the mother, the author takes us through her raw, conflicting emotions.
The writing is engaging and despite the uncomfortable subject, I couldn’t put the book down.
I was not impressed by the plot twist as I felt it was purely for shock value.

Author - Jennifer Niven
Genre - Historical Fiction
My rating - 3.5/5

The premise of the novel was very interesting.
I so wanted to love this book but somehow it fell short.
The book tries to tackle a lot of heavy historical themes at a time.
It was often heavy handed and preachy.
Despite the interesting premise it failed to captivate me.
All the conflicts were resolved in a manner which felt a bit too unrealistic.

Book 📖 Review - In Cold Blood
Author - Truman Capote
Genre - Nonfiction, True Crime
My rating - 4.25/5

It is a chilling, unsettling, chest tightening read.
The gripping narrative shifts seamlessly between the life and death of Clutters, the anxieties of the local community, and the drifting, unstable minds of the killers, Perry Smith and Dick Hickock.
The extensive research the author has undertaken is astounding.
The exploration into the psychology of killers’ motivations and actions and their relationship with one another was very interesting.
It is truly a masterpiece of the true crime literature.
