Here’s one more great book for your October reads. 🍂📖

Disturbing, unsettling, and beautifully bizarre. Some stories stay with you long after the final page. 🩸🕯️

We hear so much about emperors, generals and powerful men—but what about the women who shaped Rome? 👑🏛️ I’m excited to discover their stories.

Have you read this one? Would you pick it up? by @bookwalker773

I’m hunting for my October reads, and honestly, this is one of my favorite little rituals. Wandering through the shelves, picking up anything that catches my eye, reading the first few pages and wondering which stories will become part of my month.

A coffee in hand, no rush, just me looking for the books that feel right for October. 🍂📖

My kind of escape. 🤎 by @bookwalker773

Sometimes happiness really is this simple: finding a peaceful spot, opening a book, and letting the rest of the world wait. 🤎

Sphères is definitely a Zürich favorite I’ll keep coming back to. 📖✨ What’s your favorite cozy escape in the city?

☕️📚Just to be clear, this isn’t advertising — I just really like this place and wanted to share it. 🤎

🌌 The deeper I got into it, the more I found myself thinking about how small we are in this enormous universe. Fascinating, unsettling, and impossible to forget. by @bookwalker773

The Gates of Rome by Conn Iggulden

I really enjoyed this book. It didn’t feel like reading a history lesson — it felt like stepping into Ancient Rome and watching Caesar and Brutus grow up right in front of me.

Friendship, ambition, loyalty, politics and war… it has everything I love about historical fiction. 🏛️⚔️

And honestly, after finishing it, I just wanted to read more about Ancient Rome.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how much I miss the simple things.

Just sitting quietly in a little café with a book, drinking my coffee slowly, reading a newspaper, watching people pass by — without checking the time or feeling like I should be somewhere else.

Somehow, these ordinary moments have become a kind of luxury.

We are always rushing, working, answering messages, planning, scrolling… always trying to keep up. And sometimes I feel like we’ve forgotten how beautiful it is simply to be present.

Maybe real luxury isn’t having more. Maybe it’s having enough time to enjoy the little things without rushing.

A quiet table. A warm coffee. A good book. And a little piece of the day that belongs only to me. ☕📖 by @bookwalker773

I picked up The New Silk Roads by Peter Frankopan because I love history, but I didn’t expect it to make me think so deeply about the world we live in today.

The book explores how the regions connected by the historic Silk Roads continue to shape global politics, trade, economics, culture, and international relationships. Rather than viewing history solely through a Western lens, Frankopan highlights the central roles of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and other regions in shaping civilization.

What I enjoyed most was the way the book links the past to current events. It offers insight into why certain countries are gaining influence, why trade routes and natural resources matter, and why relationships between nations are constantly shifting.

While reading, I often found myself pausing to think, “I never looked at it that way before.” The book reminded me that the world has never been shaped by one region alone. It is the result of countless civilizations, cultures, and connections influencing one another over time.

That’s what makes a book truly worthwhile to me: it gives you new information, but it also changes the way you interpret the present.

If you enjoy history and want to better understand global politics, international trade, cultural connections, and the forces shaping the modern world, I’d definitely recommend giving this book a try. It’s an engaging, thought-provoking read that encourages you to look beyond the headlines and see current events from a much broader perspective. ✨ by @bookwalker773
