It’s Tuesday.. ‘we will do a what this week..’

I have a few more days left of work and then I’m off for three..
The holidays are in full swing and have been these last few days at traders.. i was in the freezer section working my ass off last night, because I knew we were going to get another big load today.

Baking cookies today for the crew and getting some bread ready for the holiday, as I make a killer spinach artichoke dip.. yeah.. it’s so good..

Currently watching all the flippin xmas movies I can..
RED ONE is on the docket for tomorrow and will be streaming all day on Thursday. Drop one in the comments that I have to watch.

Finishing up three books
The strength of the few..
Not what I expected, but having read islington before, I can see the direction he is going..
the licaneous trilogy had some similar vibes in the sense of the world building and characters you encountered. But you can really see his love for world building in this book. Excited to see where it’s going..

Doing a buddy read with @stormbornarchive for the FAILURES and enjoying the listen so much the second time. The writing is so fluid and story has so much depth, it’s easy to get lost in.

Also reading BETWEEN TWO FIRES with @jessletmeread and enjoying the simple language and direct story. It’s dark, it’s gritty but has touches of light woven into such a heavy themed book.

I hope everyone has a great taco Tuesday and at least get some quality alone time so they can read and breathe.
If anyone needs anything, don’t hesitate to dm me as I know the holidays can be tough.
Sending hugs.

Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

I bought this book while still reading Jane Eyre. I thought even if the vibe was similar I would enjoy it, and I must say that I did!

I think I like Jane Eyre better, but could see that being a preference issue as I think WH was just as good in terms of writing and story quality. I also had a feeling it would be a perfect November read and it absolutely was.

I’m fascinated by the female writers of the 1800s and the casual way they can portray the negative sides of characters without isolating those sides from the characters themselves. Someone like Hugo or even Dostoevsky would take time to evaluate the characters very thoroughly, Brontë just delivers them, asks you to feel what they’re feeling and then as you sit and think about the story different character actions hit you over time.

Quotes:

“My love for Linton is like the foliage in the woods. Time will change it, I’m well aware, as winter changes the trees — my love for Heathcliff resembles the eternal rocks beneath - a source of little visible delight, but necessary.”

“You, of your own will did it. I have not broken your heart - you have broken it - and in breaking it, you have broken mine”

“Mr Heathcliff, you have nobody to love you; and, however miserable you make us, we shall still have the revenge of thinking that your cruelty rises from your greater misery!”

I’ll post about it more specifically next, but this is also number 100 for year, goal completed!

☘️Rule of Three Challenge

3 emojis to describe your current read:

3 thoughts about your current read in no particular order:

(1) I’m beginning to see a pattern in her books… She is obsessed with death.
(2) Surely it is unfair that a single person can describe the same motonous snowscape in THIS many beautiful ways?
(3) This novel is making me feel trapped, but on the plus side the pet parrots sound adorable

…and 3 slides in the post!

Literally just made this challenge up 😅 would like to tag ALL of you but since I have a limit… if you see this post, feel free to join! 🎶
