👋🏼📚 • HI THERE!! I’m such an eclectic reader so I thought I’d share some of the things I love to see most in books and hopefully meet some new friends! I’ll have to do like 3/4 parts because there are SO many different themes and genres I adore. Do we share any? Can we be friends?! Let me know!!
📚
P.s still trying to challenge myself to show my face, still feeling awkward as you can tell… what am I doing at the end… *cringes* 😳😂.

I adored Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea earlier this year and after reading the sequel, A Pirate’s Life For Tea, I’m ready to crown Rebecca Thorne as the cosy fantasy queen! Returning to the Tea & Tomes series was like being wrapped in a giant hug. Kianthe and Reyna are total lesbian couple goals and it was lovely to have a new sapphic romance to root for in Bobbie and Serena. If you’re a cosy fantasy lover and you haven’t discovered this series yet then you absolutely MUST. They’re also fantastic on audio!
🏴‍☠️
This time we’re hunting stolen dragon eggs with Kianthe and Reyna as they embark on a mission to save their new home of Tawney. We meet rebel river pirate Serena and Lord’s constable Bobbie, one a lawbreaker and the other a law enforcer. It turns out they’re childhood friends to lovers to enemies to possible second chance romance (my ULTIMATE trope). What follows is one big game of cat and mouse with a heavy dose of matchmaking and mutual pining. I was here for it!
🏴‍☠️
I’ll admit I was gutted at first that we weren’t going to be in Tawney with the characters I fell in love with in book one. However, once I met Bobbie, Serena and a host of new faces, I was like Tawney who? 😂😂. It was such a fun and hilarious ride with action, adventure and tonnes of heart. The world building is fantastic and is balanced perfectly with an exciting plot, gorgeous characters and SO MUCH banter. I loved seeing Kianthe and Reyna’s relationship progress whilst Bobbie and Serena tried to deal with their complicated history and present opposing roles. I can’t wait to see what book three brings and I’m hoping it’s a return to some of the unfinished arcs of the first one!
🏴‍☠️
Thank you to @bookbreakuk for the AD/PR proofs and to @waterstones for making such stunning special editions! Both books are out NOW!

✨🎃 • Do you have any favourite witchy books?? These are my all time favourites! If you’re looking to add to your spooky season tbr I fully recommend all of them! I was (and still am) obsessed with Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Teen Witch so any book that has witches is usually an instant buy for me.
🎃
🧣 For cosy fantasy vibes go for The Very Secret Society Of Irregular Witches, Rewitched and The Honey Witch.
🩷 All of the above have gorgeous romances but if you want romance as the main theme go for Sarah Hawley and Erin Sterling.
💀 For a darker vibe you need Bitterthorn (also has the most amazing sapphic romance), The Invocations (Jude is the BEST) and One For My Enemy (witches vs vampires).
🩸 For YA full of feminism and fighting toxic masculinity mixed with a teen-witch-discovers-powers trope then Hexed is SO good!
🏛️ For mythology fans Medea and Circe are two of the best Greek myth retellings you’ll ever read!
🎃
Let me know if you’ve read or want to read any of these!

😭😭😭 HI!!!!!! OMG HI!!!!! Literally never thought I’d see this account or all of you again ❤️❤️. Here’s a ramble on what happened and how much I bloody love you all and this space. It was originally like 20 mins long so expect a part two (at least 😂). Also, I have no idea why I kept saying two weeks when it’s been over four 😂.
❤️
I’m so sorry to anyone I let down for tours etc and anyone who sent me a proof that I haven’t been able to post about. I haven’t had access to emails either so I couldn’t contact anyone! Praying I haven’t been completely blacklisted from the publishing pr world 😬🙈. ANYWAY, HI and if you’re reading this ILYSM xxx

🍁❤️‍🩹 • AD/PR - Have you got any books you’re saving for Autumn? Or any that would be perfect to cosy up with? Although it’s not all set in Autumn, Given Our History definitely has that crunchy leaves, sweater weather, cosy vibe all over it. The only thing missing was pumpkin spice lattes! It was such a lovely second chance romance with a bit of spice and the childhood friends to lovers theme I adore!
🍁
I love this kind of dual timeline in a romance. Where you get the back story mixed with the present as the characters come back together after a lengthy absence. Reading about Clara and Teddy meeting at camp and forging this bond that turned into young love was just the sweetest thing! They’re forced back together as adults when Teddy takes a temporary job at the college where Clara is a professor. I was dying to know what had forced them apart and desperate for them to rekindle the spark! I also absolutely LOVED the 00s nostalgia with so many references like Twilight, MSN, and everyone’s love language being burning a mix CD 🥹.
🍁
If you’re looking for a light and super cute romance then Given Our History is one I definitely recommend! Thank you to @zaffrebooks and Compulsive Readers for the copy and having me on the tour today. A big congratulations to @kristynjmiller on pub day too! Swipe for the synopsis and other stops!

📚🫠 • What’s everyone currently reading? And I mean everything because if you’re anything like me you won’t just have one 😂😂. I’ve spent a lot of the past few weeks in hospital and I think being so poorly and unsettled had me constantly switching books. I’ve ended up with these NINE current reads (swipe for the covers 😍) which is definitely my record!! Now that I’m home I’m making it my mission to finish them!
📚
Since I took this picture I’ve actually finished the audiobooks of both Death At Morning House and Once More From The Top ✅✅. Two down, seven to go! I think All That Glitters may be a DNF because I expected a sort of exposé “Netflix documentary” book but so far it’s not giving. I also can’t believe I’m only like 60 pages into All The Colours Of The Dark because so much has happened! Chris Whitaker is the author of one of my favourite EVER books, We Begin At The End, so I’m trying to savour it!
📚
My plan for tonight is to cosy up with the new Jesse Sutanto because she’s a guaranteed win and I’m in the mood for a bingeworthy thriller. It looks SO juicy and the opening was brilliant! I’m saving Given Our History for bedtime because it’s such a cosy second chance romance 💕. I was a bit confused with the opening of Long Live Evil but I put that down to medication and I’m going to try again, maybe tomorrow! The Dream In Gold is my current audio and the narrator’s voice is gorgeous! I’ll Look For You Everywhere isn’t as romantic as I expected. It’s more “TikTok romance” if that makes sense. I love the descriptions of Italy but I’m struggling to root for the romance because the guy is such a ****. I’m very much of the opinion that your past doesn’t give you the excuse to be a shitty human and I feel like that’s what’s happening here, but we’ll see 👀.
📚
What would you be prioritising here? Have you read any?

🤐🚫 • AD/PR - What was the last book that kept you up late? We’re onto 33 Women, the third book of the Isabel Ashdown Blogathon with Compulsive Readers, and this one wins my favourite so far! With each chapter you’re just so drawn into the fascinating mystery of this cult-like closed commune of women and desperate to discover their connection to a string of bodies! I tried to put it down to sleep but couldn’t stop thinking about it and ended up reading til 3am to get answers!
🤐
33 Women follows the women of Two Cross Farm from the pov of Bramble, a founding member, from its inception in 1976 to the present day. Their aim is to build a safe haven, closed to the world and, more importantly, men. In the second pov we follow Celine in the present day after a body is discovered with eery similarities to her sister, who was killed years earlier. Both victims had strong ties to Two Cross Farm and you cannot turn the pages quick enough to find how it all fits together!
🤐
The self-sufficient and protected living of the commune on paper had me wanting to pack my bags 😂😂. However, as with any group like this, there’s an inherent danger of abuse of power. Secrets can be hidden, crimes easily committed, rules becoming stricter. I was CAPTIVATED by Two Cross Farm and could have happily spent the whole book there. Celine’s chapters raised the stakes and moved the story along, but I did have to suspend belief in how much info the police were giving, even to a retired officer, and I always wanted to be back with Bramble!
🤐
I love being immersed in a book where I have no idea what’s going on or how it will end! 33 Women nailed the brief, with engaging characters, a gripping plot, and lots of twists and surprises. The mystery and sense of foreboding around the commune was brilliant!

🔍🩸 • AD/PR - What kinds of “for fans of…” will have you rushing to pick up a book? I have so many but a big one will always be “for fans of Agatha Christie”. I love curling up with a twisty murder mystery that puts a modern spin on the classic whodunnit. @andepliegowrites’s You Are Fatally Invited sounds like exactly that! The locked room trope, the isolated setting and the race against time as the bodies pile up is ticking all my boxes and I can’t wait to put my detective hat on!
🔍
Thank you so much to @bantambooksuk for this amazing box ❤️❤️. The team is the best out there at connecting with readers and adding fun, creative touches that match the book! It’s so appreciated! You Are Fatally Invited is out February 2025.

🛸🥧 • AD/PR - What would be your dream sweet pie filling?? Key Lime Sky featured all the pie and made me sooo hungry 🤤. I’d go for a classic banoffee with fresh cream 👌🏻, the perfect pairing for a quirky and cosy sci-fi mystery! I absolutely loved this book 🥹🥹. It’s my second of @alhess_author’s and his imaginative scenarios mixed with incredible inclusivity and representation just click with me. He writes characters you’d protect with your life and romances to make your heart melt!
🛸
Denver is a neurodiverse, non-binary pie blogger who sees a strange phenomenon in the sky above xir small town of Muddy Gap, Wyoming. Xe’s determined to investigate when no one else seems to notice, and enlists the help of Ezra, who xe quite literally runs into. As weird tiny shells and orange sand take over their town and the minds of its residents, who start to disappear, Ezra and Denver have a mystery to solve and an alien invasion to stop!
🛸
Key Lime Sky is curl-up-under-a-blanket, all-the-warm-fuzzies cosy that wraps you up in a giant hug! Denver is too loveable and Ezra is a total cinnamon roll who was PERFECT for xem. He loves Denver for being entirely xemself and he’s so considerate of xir needs and asks when he doesn’t understand. The story highlights how the world is built for neurotypical people and can be prejudiced and judgemental of anyone who isn’t. Denver is isolated and made to feel alien in xir own hometown instead of understood and accepted. I appreciated and learned so much from the insight into Denver’s experiences with neurodiversity and I just LOVE that xe found xir people!
🛸
The plot is always fun and sometimes spicy 😉, action-packed and a wild ride, but it’s the characters that made this for me. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed! Thank you to @angryrobotbooks for the review copy and for having me on the tour. Swipe for details (including a close up of the cover designed by Al himself!) and other tour stops! Key Lime Sky is out TODAY!

🕯️👀 • AD/PR - Have you tried any new-to-you popular authors this year? Are you now a fan?? T. Kingfisher is an author whose books I’ve seen for years and just never gotten around to reading. When I saw @titanbooks were running a tour for her new release, A Sorceress Comes To Call, I had to get involved. If the rest of her books are as good as this then she’s got a new superfan for life! I loooooved it!
🕯️
A Sorceress Comes To Call is billed as a dark retelling of the Brothers Grimm’s Goose Girl, which I’ve never read. I can’t comment on that aspect but I can tell you that it’s such an atmospheric and compelling fantasy with a Regency and quite gothic feel. It’s definitely dark and there are horror elements, but nothing that scared me. I’d say more unsettling! Weirdly, it feels kind of cosy despite being quite chilling and creepy!
🕯️
Cordelia is controlled and manipulated by her scheming Sorceress Mother who uproots her to the remote country manor of a prominent older Squire to secure herself a marriage. Hester is the Squire’s sister and sets about thwarting the Sorceress’s plans. However, as she gets to know Cordelia she realises it’s not just her brother she needs to save 👀.
🕯️
The dual pov of Cordelia and Hester made this book for me. They were both brilliant characters to follow and I loved them equally. Evangeline as the Sorceress was truly a villain and thoroughly unlikeable. The side characters in Hester’s friendship group had so many scene stealing moments I lost count! It does deal contain heavy topics around parental abuse, control and manipulation but these are balanced with a lot of heart, touches of humour, and a fantastic non-romance romance (Hester and Lord Evermore 4eva!).
🕯️
If you’ve never tried T. Kingfisher before then this is a great place to start. If you already love her then you’re in for such a treat! Thank you to @titanbooks for the copy and having me on the tour. Swipe for the full synopsis and other dates!
