📆 Oh boy, the rest of October is PACKED with events at The Bookworm!

🧙‍♀️ Tomorrow night at 6pm, celebrate the release of the latest @fmcfaddenauthor book, THE WITCH with games, activities, and giveaways!

📚 Wednesday, October 14th, our annual BoOozy Book Fair is back! Grab your besties and come to our adult book fair full of witchy, spooky, pumpkin-spice vibes! We always sell out, so make sure to get your ticket today.

🌀 Then the next night, Thursday, October 15th at 5:30pm, learn from spirituality experts how to understand the sacred masculine and feminine spirits within yourself or your loved ones.

❤️ On Tuesday, October 20th at 6pm, acknowledge Cardiac Arrest Awareness month and hear local author @lynngblake ’s incredible story of how her own near death experience turned her towards advocacy and education. @ecparamedics will also be there to lead hands-on CPR and DEFIB demonstrations!

🐉 On Monday, October 26th at 11pm, we’re hosting a midnight release party for the new book in @sarahjmaas ACOTAR series, A COURT OF SPLINTERED HARMONY! We’ll have trivia, bingo, and other activities and giveaways!

🐺 The Book Club at the End of the Universe has its second meeting on Tuesday, October 27th at 5:30pm to discuss A NIGHT IN THE LONESOME OCTOBER, an amalgam of horror, humor, mystery, and fantasy featuring a Who’s Who from Victorian horror and mystery!

🧛‍♀️ On Wednesday, October 28th at 5:30pm our Read with Pride Book club with @mountain_pride is meeting to discuss queer villains through CARMILLA, the sapphic vampire story that inspired Dracula!

👻 And at the end of the month, kick off Halloween day with Spooky Storytime with bookseller Alix! Kiddos of all ages are welcome, and Halloween costumes are encouraged!

The debate over the inclusion of gender diverse people in sport has become the latest battleground in the fight for basic human rights and equality. In Let Us Play, trans athlete Harrison Browne and investigative journalist Rachel Browne reveal how the opposition towards gender diverse athletes is fueled by fear and a moral panic as opposed to facts around what makes “a level playing field.”

Everyone is welcome—even if you haven’t finished the book! Whether you’re here for the historical deep dive or just want to hang out with a wonderful group of people, we can’t wait to see you.
