Back at Chequamegon Mountain Bike Festival for the first time since 2023. Did the Short and Fat 16 Mile race this year cuz of another commitment in the evening on race day. Had a great time riding in the north woods around Cable WI. I’ve been coming to this event since 1986! I’ve missed a few along the way, but I’ve completed somewhere around 25 40 milers and 8 S&F’s. In this one, I made my goal time and stayed upright throughout! by @boone.bob1

Going to Tucson again! On November 21 I will ride in El Tour de Tucson to raise money for the Davis Phinney Foundation. DPF is an organization that provides programming and support for people with Parkinson’s and caretakers. I immediately connected with this organization because the founder is a former pro cyclist. End of an era! Sunday was the final show for The Cutaways. We have been together playing music for close to 25 years! Lots of incredible memories to carry me through after having to stop performing. Getting close!! This Saturday is El Tour de Tucson. I’ll be riding the 32 mile event to raise money for the Davis Phinney Foundation (a Parkinson’s foundation). Weather played a part in Sunday’s Big Sugar Gravel. Started dry, got some rain, dried out again then poured at the finish. It was a beautiful 54 mile route and was a great adventure to finish up our week in Bentonville. Back home for a few weeks then out to Arizona for El Tour de Tucson. Back in Bentonville! This time my Friend Chad and I are participating in two bike races/events. Last Sunday was Little Sugar mtb. I did 20k while Chad did 100k. We both had great days, but one of us is a little more exhausted! by @boone.bob1

Had the incredible fortune to participate in a 5 day backpacking trip with Pass to Pass, an organization that takes people with Parkinson’s Disease on backpacking and hiking trips. The rugged Cascades provided challenging hikes and amazing scenery. The trip leaders, my support hiker and other “Parkies” made this trip very memorable. We were all able to meet the challenges and find inner strength that we weren’t sure was there. I have come away with the confidence to continue to “live well” with this condition. Thanks to all!
