Women’s Day is a day to remember that equal rights cannot be performed. They need to be voiced, demanded, barged for, and built on the shoulders of our ancestors. Today many go to school because several people fought for our place in educational institutions. Today we cast our vote because a few stood their ground. Men walked hand in hand with this belief that the journey of life is not divided, but lived together as equals. Take part in policy change and local civic rights, and make way for future generations to not face the same struggles we have.

Did you know a courtyard is called முற்றம் (Mutram) in Tamil?

There’s something so special about a courtyard.
It’s just an open space in a home, but somehow it holds so much — sunlight, rain, plants, little conversations, slow mornings and so many memories.

Maybe that’s why I love courtyards so much.
They make a home feel alive. 🤍

When I think of celebrations, I think of the women who made them happen.

The mothers who cooked, cleaned, set everything up, got irritated with the whole world and still somehow found five minutes to drape a saree, drink a cup of coffee and welcome everyone with a smile.

I grew up watching women make celebrations beautiful for everyone else, often forgetting to enjoy them themselves.

Today, I want celebrations to feel different. A saree you can breathe in. A saree you can sit, eat, laugh, dance and make memories in. Friends who come into the kitchen, help with the food, fix each other’s pleats and stay for one more cup of coffee.

Because dressing up should never mean forgetting to have fun.

This festive season, here’s to sarees that let us be comfortable, beautiful and completely ourselves.
