Last weekend at The Bound Publishing Course was packed with ideas, insights and a lot to take away.

From understanding the business of magazine publishing from an editor’s perspective with @sa1i1, to exploring business communication with @shalakulkarni, the cohort got a closer look at the different sides of publishing and media.

@chitranshutewari led an engaging session on the business of news media, including how AI could shape its future. @suki_unibrow took the cohort through writing across formats while sharing her own journey, and @toontooniguha's expert speak session opened up a conversation around careers beyond publishing.

What we love most is how much thought our faculty put into every session, making sure the cohort leaves with practical insights they can carry into their work.

We’re three weeks into The Bound Publishing Course, and our cohort’s enthusiasm to learn has been such a joy to see.

Last week, we had @riachops , @sayantansunnyghosh and @rupalvee back at TBPC. Every year, they bring fresh insights, new stories and plenty of experiences from the world of publishing, and we love learning from them.
Our cohort was just as engaged, with plenty of questions and, of course, lots of notes being taken along the way!

Whose class would you have loved to be a part of? Tell us in the comments! by @boundacademy

We’re thrilled to announce our third set of guest faculty for The Bound Publishing Course 2026!

Introducing Suprio Guha Thakurta, Guest Speaker for The Bound Publishing Course 2026!

Suprio Guha Thakurta is a strategic advisor for recurring-revenue and subscription businesses, and the former Chief Strategy Officer of The Economist. During his nearly decade-long tenure at The Economist, he led the group's response to platform disruption of the publishing business model, growing brand reach by 65% through a strategy spanning social media, technology partnerships, and new monetisation channels with the likes of Apple News, Snapchat Discover, and Facebook Instant Articles. He also drove double-digit paid subscription growth across Asia Pacific and India — a market that had been flat for decades — and helped India become The Economist's fourth-largest paid subscriber market globally, behind only the US, UK, and Canada.

Suprio now works independently, helping CEOs and founders design and scale high-durability recurring-revenue businesses — with a particular focus on pricing, packaging, acquisition, retention, and lifetime value. He holds an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur, and brings over three decades of experience across media, advertising, and direct marketing.

We are really looking forward to his sessions this year!

Introducing Almas Jani, Guest Faculty for The Bound Publishing Course 2026!

Almas Jani is an independent art director and graphic designer who has worked with design-centric magazines like L'Officiel India and Seventeen India. Her work is diversified into digital design, creating dynamic websites, e-brochures, social media posts, and animated videos. Almas serves clients ranging from corporates to jewellery brands, interior designers, and creative professionals. She has also launched Indian editions of BBC Good Homes and Architectural Digest.

We’re honoured to have her back with us this year!

Another faculty member we keep coming back to, Vasundhara Sawhney.

She is an editorial consultant and writer with more than two decades of experience helping organisations, business leaders, and authors turn compelling ideas into clear, engaging, and useful conte by @boundacademy

What does Bombay mean to you?
For Joachim Coutinho, the protagonist of You Envy the Coutinhos, Bombay is Bollywood, elusive and seductive, a dream he can only chase on brief vacations from his life in the Gulf.

Every writer carries their own version of the city: a memory, a longing, an obsession. This workshop by Michelle D' costa is about finding yours and putting it on the page.

Michelle was part of Bound for five years, where she taught and mentored so many of our writers before going on to write her own book. We're so happy to have her back in the room!

Over three hours, you'll read and analyse an excerpt set in Bombay, break down its craft elements, and then write your own piece using a prompt inspired by the city. Michelle will guide you through the exercises with feedback and insight, followed by a Q&A on writing, publishing, and what it takes to become a published author.
