Message from the President
Welcome to Clay Lane, the home of Bowdon RUFC founded in 1877

Our 150th year as a Club is in 2027 and we can look back with immense pride at how far we have come as a Club. Not only do we have a thriving and successful Senior and Junior section, we also have a ladies team, Bowdon Women, and a mixed ability team, Bowdon Bears. We will be celebrating our “Bowdon 150” with a range of events, including a Ball, a formal Dinner and a number of rugby related activities. More details will be published in due course.

Our 1st XV team are now playing their second season in the North West 1 league and the 2nd XV are playing in the Astley Moss Division 2 South . We have one of the largest mini and junior sections in the North West and we host Cheshire County fixtures.

Bowdon RUFC are proud to be a thriving community club, and we have many volunteers who work hour upon hour to make the Club what it is today.

We are delighted to welcome you here and hope that you have a wonderful experience.

“Rugby isn’t a game of individual brilliance, but a game of teamwork”.

Yours in rugby,

Nick Buckley

Bowdon v Macclesfield

A tough Saturday afternoon for the lads. Not the result we came for, but we dust ourselves off and go again next week.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support us. @jmc.captures on the 📷 #throughthelens #rugby #grassrootsrugby #bowdonrufc taken in Bowdon Rugby Club by @bowdon1877

⭐ PLAYER OF THE MONTH – HENRY FULFORD ⭐

Chosen by club president Nick Buckley and sponsored by JP Engineering Services Ltd, Henry takes home Player of the Month following two fantastic performances in the Bowdon shirt.

Unbelievable carrying, relentless tackling and an outstanding work rate have made him stand out over the last two games. Putting his body on the line and leading by example, Henry has been an absolute star. 💪

Congratulations, Henry – thoroughly deserved! 👏

A big thank you to JP Engineering Services for their support! 🤝 taken in Bowdon Rugby Club by @bowdon1877

A huge thank you to our U9s who came along to support the 1st XV on Saturday against @macclesfieldrugby 🤝💚

So many tries, tackles and smiles from our U9s - it was a joy to watch you all play!

Club Captain Rinky presented Osca with the Player of the Match award for his swan dive finish in the corner! 🏉🦢

Father and son, John and Rory, took to the field together for our 2nd XV yesterday! 💪💚

John is part of our Colts coaching team, while Rory stepped up from last season’s Colts into senior rugby.

A proud moment for them both. Well done lads! 👏 by @bowdon1877
