Scotland sensation Kara Young will go for Gold on Sunday after another victory at the European Boxing Under-17 Championships.

The Doghouse boxer defeated Finland’s Lila Passo via unanimous decision in their 52kg Semi-Final in Budva, Montenegro this evening.

The Scot will now face England’s Delilah Lambert in the Final, with the chance to make more history up for grabs for the teenager.

Kara has already joined an exclusive list of only five Scottish boxers to have claimed multiple European medals, following her Gold at the European Schools (U15) Championships in Bosnia two years ago.

But no Scot has ever won two European Gold medals, with Kara now having the chance to do so in the Junior competition.

SCOTLAND’S Mikey Kahl secured a first-round stoppage to progress through to the Quarter-Finals of the European Boxing Under-17 Championships.

The Byron boxer overwhelmed Montenegro’s Vasilije Bugarin in the opening round, forcing two standing counts before the corner threw in the towel in their 80+kg Round of 16 contest.

It was a very impressive start to the competition from the 2023 European Schools Silver medallist against the home boxer at the Junior Championships being held in Budva, Montenegro.

Unfortunately it was Team Scotland’s only victory of the day, with Byron teammate Ethan Munro losing out to Romania’s Cristi Casu via unanimous decision in their 46kg Round of 32 contest.

Meanwhile, Irvine Vineburgh’s Lucas Boyd was unlucky to be on the end of a first round stoppage in his 52kg Round of 32 bout with Russia’s Prokhor Anashkin, which looked to be called of a little too early.

No Scots are scheduled to compete on Day Four of the competition tomorrow, with Lochee’s Jenna Dailly back in action on Wednesday.

European Boxing Under-17 Championships Results, Monday 5th October 2026;

46kg Round of 32 – Ethan Munro (SCO) lost to Cristi Casu (ROU) via unanimous decision.

52kg Round of 32 – Lucas Boyd (SCO) lost to Prokhor Anashkin (RUS) via R1 RSC.

80+kg Round of 16 – Mikey Kahl (SCO) beat Vasilije Bugarin (MNE) via R1 ABD.
