Overall technique has changed dramatically. Im pretty confident to say that this technique change was the biggest missing link for me to use heavier weights for cleans & actually have it translate to athletic movements

Next 3 months will be fun. By January I should be reaping benefits massively from it

College Basketball Player Rebuild

ATG Split Squats are crucial for rebuilding the inner quad muscle for knee stability and opening up the hip flexors for lower back health.

2 easy principles to improve your standing jump

1. Improve Power clean over 1x BW. Ultimate goal would be 1.5x

2. Improve Squat over 1.5x BW. Ultimate goals would be over 2x BW

Just these 2 will sky rocket your vert. BUT. If you can’t do these moments without pain don’t push it.

Removing the pain you feel in these lifts is the number 1 priority before improving your weight room numbers

If your dealing with Ankle, Knee, Hip, or Back issues those areas need to resolved first.

Hit a lot of new dunks the other day on my dunk session.

Looking to hit these dunks this upcoming weekend more cleaner. Creativity in the dunks are coming along more and more.

What lower days have been looking like lately.

Practicing dunking during sessions has been awesome lately. Did some hip flexor, calf work as well but didn’t record it.

Looking forward to how my hand speed improved dunking for 15 minutes before sessions !! by @boyosprings

#1 strength Movement for young athletes are are slow tempo DEEL SQUATS

Here are a few reason why slow tempo squats are great for younger athletes

- They teach the athletes how to control there pattern. A lot of times young athletes have a hard time with form & control. So doing a slow tempo forces them to actively work thru the movement rather then rushing it & sacrificing form

- they build healthier/stronger tendons. The slow eccentric is we’re your connective tissue experiences the most load during this movement. The more you control your tempo on the way down the more your connective tissue will be stronger & more robust so you avoid injuries

-Slow tempo squats help build hypertrophy. Every rep takes about 10 seconds. So if your doing 5 reps of this tempo your almost getting a whole minute of work while doing squats. Your body recognizes time/tension more than actual “weight”. So by controlling your tempo your muscles will be active and pushing hard a lot longer then it would be in a normal squat
