The Button VAVI | Mjölk architekti A new production hall in Vimperk brings together the manufacturing, administration and presentation of VAVI, a Czech family business specialising in shirts and corporate clothing. Designed as an open showcase of the company’s craft, the building allows visitors to see production in progress, from individual pieces to large-scale series, while a café and showroom connect the process with the customer experience. The building was also conceived as a welcoming workplace for the company’s long-standing local team, with generous daylight, views of the surrounding landscape and a layout that follows the natural flow of production while allowing for future change. At the heart of the design is a simple idea: the button. Reflected in the building’s compact form, façade rhythm and structural logic, it becomes an architectural motif linking the everyday object with the craft, detail and identity of the brand. Znojmo 800 na Designbloku 2026. Design, okurky a osm století města Znojmo slaví 800 let. A ví, jak naložit se svou historií i současností. Má rotundu, chrám, věž, sklepy, vinice a samozřejmě okurky. To všechno stojí za uchování. Ale město není nakládaná okurka. Aby neztratilo šťávu, potřebuje taky čerstvé ingredience. Třeba současný český design. Znojemská Beseda proto oslovila Kabinet Works, aby společně připravili koncepci jubilejního merchandisingu a vizuální vrstvy oslav. Vznikla autorská kolekce předmětů, které Znojmo reprezentují jinak než běžné suvenýry — bez povinných panoramat a turistických klišé. S nadhledem, humorem a důrazem na řemeslo i autorskou tvorbu. Hlavním motivem oslav je nakládání. Proto se část kolekce objevuje v zavařovacích sklenicích, které mohou sloužit dál. A celá kolekce je představena ve *Výstavním špajzu* od studia ORA — pojízdné expozici nových předmětů starého Znojma, která dorazila až na Designblok. Fotografický soubor propojuje instalaci, Výstavní špajz, objekt od ORA i výběr produktů. Sleduje, jak se jubilejní identita města proměňuje v konkrétní věci, materiály, detaily a situace — od velkého prostorového gesta až po drobné předměty pro každodenní použití. Preserving the historical context and drawing inspiration from traditional architectural forms are key priorities for us. We have returned to this theme repeatedly in the village of Bukovany. Václav Navrátil has family, fields, and a vineyard there; together with Jan Sedláček and the SENAA architekti team, we have gradually completed three projects along the local “wine cellar lane.” We began by renovating an uncle’s small cellar, followed by two weekend houses used by the family and also rented to guests for short stays. Bukovanský domeček is the latest of these. Čebín Primary School | knesl kynčl architekti In the village of Čebín, northwest of Brno, a former 1970s convenience store has been transformed into a new upper-primary school for around 120 students. Driven by a growing shortage of school capacity in the region, the municipality chose to solve the issue itself, reusing an existing building rather than waiting for a wider public solution. The school is located on the village green, alongside the town hall, nursery, community centre, health centre and other civic facilities, reinforcing a long-established centre of community life. Its compact three-storey layout is organised around a central atrium, with classrooms, staff offices and administration arranged around it. An adjacent plot has already been secured for a future extension, with the building’s circulation core designed to connect to it. A new clock on the main façade marks the building as a new landmark within the village. Knoflík VAVI Knoflík VAVI od studia Mjölk je nová výrobní, kancelářská a prodejní budova rodinné firmy VAVI ve Vimperku. Kruhový půdorys odkazuje k motivu knoflíku a převádí detail textilního řemesla do měřítka architektury. Otevřený koncept propojuje výrobu, showroom, obchod a kavárnu. Návštěvníci mohou nahlédnout do procesu šití a sledovat cestu košile od práce švadlen až k hotovému produktu. Fotografie sledují Knoflík jako výrazný objekt na hraně města a krajiny — jeho geometrii, měřítko, průhledy do výroby i kontrast mezi architektonickým gestem a přesností ruční práce. Knoflík VAVI by Mjölk is a new production, office and retail building for the family company VAVI in Vimperk. Its circular plan refers to the motif of a button, translating a detail of textile craft into architecture. . The open concept connects production, showroom, store and café. Visitors can look into the sewing process and follow the journey of a shirt from the work of seamstresses to the finished product. The photographs follow Knoflík as a distinctive object on the edge of town and landscape — its geometry, scale, views into production, and the contrast between an architectural gesture and the precision of handwork.
