Mjölk is NUMBER ONE among the top architecture studios in the Czech Republic! According to the global platform @architizer , we took 1st place among the top 35 architecture practices in the Czech Republic. It’s a great feeling. Not because we care about trophies or gold stars, but because it proves that doing things our own way, as an independent, slightly stubborn studio, actually works. “We are the astronauts of architecture, aviators of courage, gardeners of passion, and fighters against scruffiness.” A huge thank you to everyone - our entire team, our collaborators, and our amazing clients! “We are the astronauts of architecture, aviators of courage, gardeners of passion and fighters against scruffiness.“ Děkujeme celému týmu, našim spolupracovníkům a také klientům! #architizer #czecharchitecture #bestarchitecture #mjolkarchitects

LINKA × MEAT DESIGN OSTRAVA 2026 02 — Chyba?! / Mistake?! A mistake can leave a mark. Sometimes it becomes a lesson; sometimes, a story worth passing on. Chyba?! is an exhibition about the wrong turns, failed decisions and unexpected lessons that shape us — in architecture and beyond. Rather than presenting architecture as a sequence of finished projects, it opens up space for the doubts and imperfections behind them. Photographs by Martin Tůma of @boysplaynice portray Czech architects across generations, accompanied by their personal reflections on mistakes. Visitors are invited to contribute their own stories, too. The exhibition takes place in the Archilounge. Concept: @boysplaynice, @mjolk_architekti, @linka.news Architecture: @mjolk_architekti Pavilion realization: @ekomodular (pavilion), @woodyglass.cz (wood-glass partitions) Photo: Martin Tůma (@boysplaynice) Graphics: @micolova, @marek_nedelka Program, production: @linka.news Exhibition partners: @veluxcesko, @woodyglass.cz Meat Design Ostrava, Černá louka, Pavilion A November 6–8, 2026 Architects can register for free admission for themselves and one accompanying guest via the link in our bio. LINKA × MEAT DESIGN OSTRAVA 2026 01 — The Pavilion What happens when architecture makes room for mistakes? This November, @linka.news joins forces with @meatdesignostrava to bring the festival’s theme, ERROR, into architecture through an exhibition and a three-day programme of talks, discussions and professional encounters. At the heart of it all is the Pavilion for Mistakes, designed by @mjolk_architekti and built by @ekomodular. Partitions by @woodyglass.cz and support from @veluxcesko help shape the space, while Martin Tůma of @boysplaynice captures the perspectives of Czech architects across generations for the Chyba?! exhibition. The Pavilion is part of the Archilounge, a space for lectures, consultations, exhibitions, and professional encounters. And when the festival ends, the pavilion will be dismantled and its materials reused to build saunas. Because some mistakes are worth talking about, while others might be better sweated out. Meat Design Ostrava, Černá louka, Pavilion A November 6–8, 2026 Architects can register for free admission for themselves and one accompanying guest via the link in our bio. See you in Ostrava! #MeatDesignOstrava #DesignFestival #ArchitectureFestival

From the east, it looks exactly like a Wallachian log cabin has always looked in these mountains. From the west, the valleys open through full-height glass. Kohútka Cottage by SENAA architekti occupies a sloping plot in the Javorniky range, designed for the owner of the surrounding mountain complex. The saddle roof, pronounced overhang, small casement windows, and log construction on the eastern facade follow the local vernacular without quoting it. The western facade answers with large-format glazing that frames several valley views simultaneously, the two faces of the building as different from each other as the landscape on either side. The timber structure arrived as prefabricated sandwich panels, manufactured in the valley below and assembled on-site in a single day. No dormers, no skylights, no air conditioning. The overhanging roof keeps summer heat out. The south-facing glass pulls winter sun in. A heat pump connected to underfloor heating handles the rest. The wellness and sauna space in the basement is lit naturally from beneath the western terrace, a consequence of the slope rather than a design addition. A house where every decision about tradition and every decision about technology pointed in the same direction. 📐 @senaa_architekti 📸 @boysplaynice #czecharchitecture #mountainarchitecture #logcabin #timberarchitecture #cottagedesign

The Button VAVI | Mjölk architekti A new production hall in Vimperk brings together the manufacturing, administration and presentation of VAVI, a Czech family business specialising in shirts and corporate clothing. Designed as an open showcase of the company’s craft, the building allows visitors to see production in progress, from individual pieces to large-scale series, while a café and showroom connect the process with the customer experience. The building was also conceived as a welcoming workplace for the company’s long-standing local team, with generous daylight, views of the surrounding landscape and a layout that follows the natural flow of production while allowing for future change. At the heart of the design is a simple idea: the button. Reflected in the building’s compact form, façade rhythm and structural logic, it becomes an architectural motif linking the everyday object with the craft, detail and identity of the brand.
