Divided by school colors. United by the Buckeye Boys State Band. 🎺🤝

Two different schools, one game on the line, but zero distance between these 4 BBS brothers. Love seeing our delegates, Zander, Brody, Miles and Jacob link up out in the wild during football season!

POV: You go from playing bass under Director Jordan at Buckeye Boys State to conducting HIM in a community band two years later. 🤯🎺

Huge shoutout to Drew Topy (BBS ‘24) for taking the baton at a community band performance in Licking County earlier today. From BBS Band delegate to holding it down with the legendary Ohio University Marching 110, Drew is living proof of where this program can take you and your instrument.

Talk about a legendary surprise reunion! We’re so proud of Drew and all the exemplary alumni like him! 🙌🎶

It’s been a minute since Mr. Brightside made the BBS Band setlist, but we officially pulled it out of storage to play at the program last month.

23 years later, and this hit song by The Killers still has us shouting every lyric. What classic track should we pull out of the vault next? Tell us below! by @boysstateband

The Band doesn’t get much downtime during the week of Buckeye Boys State, but we always allocate a few moments for Band delegates seeking statewide offices to make their pitches to the entire group. It’s great to look back and see all the incredible enthusiasm and talent within the group. by @boysstateband

Each of us longs for home. Whether it’s nostalgia for the place you grew up or a desire to be surrounded by people who truly accept you, we all want a place to belong. 🏡
That’s why a song like Take Me Home, Country Roads, resonates so deeply—whether you’re a Buckeye Boys State delegate or a fan in a packed World Cup stadium. The desire for home transcends our differences, and the arbitrary divisions of our geography and political identities melt away when we lift our voices together.

On this historic Independence Day—marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence—let’s celebrate the ideals, the promises, and the incredible people of the United States. Our home. 🇺🇸✨

Before your time, but still on repeat. 📢🎺

Escaping the heat wave today with a little help from the 2026 Buckeye Boys State Band! 🥵☀️

Fun fact: Two of our most popular stand tunes this year—Seven Nation Army and Take Me Home, Country Roads—are older than the entire Class of 2026 delegates. True classics never go out of style!

Campaigns, city jobs, twice-daily practices, and zero downtime. The ultimate weeklong adrenaline rush. 🥵🎶🏃‍♂️

Huge shoutout to the Buckeye Boys State Band delegates who absolutely crushed the juggle this year! Balancing your political campaigns, jobs, city obligations while holding down the backbeat of the entire BBS program is no small feat.

Hopefully, everyone has officially caught up on sleep just in time to hit the reset button for Independence Day this weekend. You earned every bit of it! 🇺🇸🎆

🌟 Potter Spotlight 🌟It’s a wrap on 88th session of Buckeye Boys State 2026! 🇺🇸🏛️

After an incredible week at Miami University, our Potter delegates are returning home with valuable leadership experience, new friendships, and a deeper understanding of civic responsibility and public service.

👏 Congratulations to:
📍 Miles Reynolds
📍 Andrew Dalton
📍 Hunter Estell

Throughout the week, students from across Ohio stepped into roles as mayors, legislators, judges, and citizens, learning firsthand how government works while developing leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. They came together with a shared commitment to serving something greater than themselves and left inspired to make a difference in their communities.

Buckeye Boys State’s theme, #AWeekToShapeALifetime, truly captures the impact of this experience. From campaigning and elections to debating legislation and solving real-world challenges, our students represented East Liverpool with pride and professionalism.

We are incredibly proud of Miles, Andrew, and Hunter for embracing this opportunity and for serving as outstanding ambassadors for the Potter community. 💙🤍

A special thank you to American Legion Post 374, Sons of The American Legion, Mr. Ernie Cross, and Mrs. Dawn Pipo for their continued support in making this life-changing experience possible.

Welcome home, Potters and congratulations on a week well spent! 🎉 taken in Miami University of Ohio by @boysstateband

As we close out another incredible week at Buckeye Boys State, we are filled with pride, hope, and deep gratitude. Over the past week, we witnessed young leaders step into roles as mayors, legislators, judges, and citizens — each one learning the power of civic responsibility, service, and working across differences.

While the colors are retired, the Buckeye Boys State flag remains on stage and salutes you, the delegates of the 88th Session of the American Legion Buckeye Boys State, as you depart from Miami University.

To the delegates: Your energy, curiosity, and courage to lead gives us faith in the future of our country. You came together from all across Ohio, united by a desire to serve something greater than yourselves. Your example reminds us that leadership grounded in integrity and purpose will always matter.

To the Legionnaires, staff, and counselors who made this week possible: Thank you for showing up, sharing your wisdom, and investing into the next generation of public servants.

Help us spread the word for the 2027 program by speaking to your underclassmen and by having them follow us here and on Twitter and Instagram @OhioBBS.

To the future BBS class of 2027, we will see you in 356 days on June 13, 2027 for the 89th Session. But who’s counting?

For the last time: Gentlemen, this assembly is adjourned. We truly hope that this has been #AWeekToShapeALifetime.
