So I needed a minute or 2 to process the death of @cheetahfchrome . Hearing about Cheetah's passing has been a hard one for me for many reasons. The @deadboys_official_ig have been one of my favorite punk bands since I was 19. I had no idea during that time that years later I would be able to sit down and have a chat with Cheetah. An interview that I am SO very thankful to have done. I've hosted over 80 interviews with various bands/artists but the anticipation for Cheetah's was great.

During our talk I learned how Eugene Richard O'Connor, who would later be known as Cheetah Chrome, started playing guitar in 1963 after his Mom bought him his first guitar for Christmas. He then went on to buy himself his first electric guitar when he was 13 after working in a tobacco shop. Eugene would eventually answer an ad from the band Rocket From the Tombs in 1974 when he was 18. Cheetah disclosed that a few years later a friend would describe Stiv Bators like Alice Cooper and declare to Cheetah, "Once you meet Stiv, Rockets is over, you guys are on the same wavelength." After Stiv and Cheetah met, Stiv then went out to NYC and told the remaining members of The Dead Boys that "there are people like us here." The story of how The Dead Boys would go on to become regulars at CBGB's is that Joey Ramone lied to the owner of the club, Hilly Kristal, saying that the band had opened up for them which led to them getting an audition and eventually management from Hilly. Cheetah was always grateful to Ramones for helping them out. When I brought up viewing the DVD of The Dead Boys CBGB's performance he commented that, "Back then I was young, dumb and angry." At one point I mentioned the fact that I always thought it would be cool for a woman to cover The Dead Boys song, "I Need Lunch" and we both agreed that Texas Terri would do it justice. "Ain't Nothin' to Do", was Cheetah's favorite song he actually wrote while in Rocket in the Tombs. At the end of our conversation Cheetah said, "I want to just keep playing till I drop. As long as people want to see me, I'll be able to play for them". Rest easy Cheetah Chrome. You will be missed.

HEY THERE!
.
.
I hope you all have been well! I know I've been MIA forever but I've been a VERY busy gal!
.
.
Started a full time job in the music industry in addition to working on/conducting interviews so my plate has been extremely full. Loving the new gig but its part of the reason why my first @bracketts_rackett band interview with OXYMORON release date has been a bit delayed. That interview along with many others are DEFINITELY on their way though and I cannot wait for you to see them!!
.
.
Make sure to STAY TUNED cause I have tons of surprise guests in store! Some of whom have come out of hiding just for BRACKETT'S RACKETT!! 🎵

Photo of me from many years back at the infamous @hotelchelsea in NYC... Originally established as A Victorian Gothic building in 1884, The Chelsea would eventually evolve into a bohemian Hotel Haven.
.
.

Being a Sex Pistols fan, I first heard about the Hotel because of Sid Vicious and the notorious murder of his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen that occurred there. The event left me perplexed as to what really happened at that crime scene since no one else was there to tell the tale besides Sid and he died shortly after.
.
There have been numerous other artists/musicians who have inhabited Chelsea's halls... Andy Warhol, Patti Smith, Janis Joplin, Betsy Johnson, Mick Jagger, Jack Kerouac, Ethan Hawke, Lou Reed, Edie Sedgwick, Jimi Hendrix and Madonna to name a few. The Hotel's manager would actually let residents pay rent with art at one point which is a concept I love.
.
In 2022 the Hotel was renovated for a more upscale ambiance but the importance of the art/artists still remains.
.
If you've never heard of the Chelsea Hotel, I highly recommend googling it and its vast eclectic history.

It's my B-Day! Crazy how time flies. Since I don't really do the incredibly fun birthdays I once did in my younger years I thought I'd post some photos of one of my epic Hollywood, CA birthdays from that time...
.
.
These are from my Totally 80s Birthday when I worked and celebrated at @hollywoodburg . Truly one of my all time favorites.
.
.
Getting older is no fun but I am really excited about some things going on in my life right now. Especially the new Music Interview Show @bracketts_rackett which I hope you all will STAY TUNED for! 🖤

I have an exciting update I'd like to share with you! I have parted ways with ON THE NOD because of erratic and immature behavior on their part. They disagreed with an action I took and instead of coming to me directly to discuss it, they decided to put me on blast on social media. I would normally never reveal such a personal dispute on here but I must do so because I definitely did not deserve this premature reaction. I am always the bigger person and handle such matters privately however I feel the need to share my side of the story because of the capricious actions from people who claimed to be "family".

I will always appreciate them giving me my start with doing band interviews but I am very much looking forward to my new endeavor, @bracketts_rackett rackett where I can be in charge of my own Music Show and do not have to rely on their inconsistent demeanor. I raised the views on ON THE NOD to a new level and It's a shame that a Show I put my heart, soul and time into has to end this way but nonetheless, it's been time for a while now to move on to bigger and better endeavors. I have offers from other Shows and I'm thrilled to be free to explore these options.

I thank you all SO much for your support! You will be able to find me and my new band interviews on YouTube under, "Brackett's Rackett" so STAY TUNED! I already have several amazing interviews in the works I can't wait to share. 🫶
