One more week and it’s back to one of my favorite places to get snowed on and really cold in hopes of some trout. Crazy what I’ll do for a fish.

Hobo-maxing in the mountains is a good reminder that having a job kinda sucks.

I love nothing more than running around out west pretending to know how to catch trout. Another sick trip exploring some new water with the sister.

Sometimes the fish just seem to find their way to you or in this case you find your way to Montana.

Also whitefish are cooler than people make them out to be.

The trout never has to ask her favorite color.

Public lands are where we hunt and fish and hike, they need to stay that way; public.

Such a blast getting to break in the new raft with the homie @andrew_thomas21_ always a killer time !
The fish did not cooperate and start rising, but we found a few drifting bobber rigs.

Stoke was real high for this one and what a blast it was. Crossed another fish off the list and got some much needed sun! Could not have done it without @flyfishingofcharleston
Also @brookeazimmerman took all these pictures which is why they look so good.

I often like to complain about fishing in Pennsylvania, but I guess it’s not all that bad. Going back through old pictures can be a good reminder.

Watching them swim off might be better than catching them.

“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.” -Heraclitus

Returning to the Tetons had this playing in my head constantly realizing that though I was there last year both the river and I were once again meeting for the first time. I was chasing the high of experiencing the area for the first time while overlooking the impact it had on me ever since I left. The true beauty of the area is no matter how many times I go back it will have something new for me to discover. The trout will feed differently, the water will flow where it hadn’t before, and I will get to learn it all over again. A long winded way of saying that this area has had a big impact on how I view fly fishing and my involvement in it as a whole.

I am often reminded that it never really is about the fish but where the fish takes you. The fish is merely the vessel for taking you to new places. Utah is a special one.
