New Lifer!

“Somewhere far down the slippery slope, we look back and realize how far we have come from the simple appreciation of birds.” -Kenn Kaufman

Sick day!! Thank you @brookeazimmerman for the sweet pics! Can’t wait to see the rest of the Zimmerman’s big year! I was very blessed to take them out and get Brad on his first redfish on fly! Couldn’t have asked for a better day!!

Foam is Home

I might have something profound to say about this trip if it wasn’t just so darn fun. Been in vacation mode recently in preparation for the full-on, try hard, type 2 trips that are quickly approaching despite my best efforts ;) Can’t stay in vacation mode forever, but I’m loving it for now

Vandalism💙

I’ve driven a handful of cars in my life, none half as important as this dear ‘05 Astro to me. I got Vandalism at 18, and she’s been my only daily driver since. We’ve been to 32 states during 5 cross country trips. I’ve blown up 3 tires, 2 transmissions and snapped 1 sway bar clean in half.

While closing in on 250,000 miles, I’ve decided to enter her into a soft retirement to give her the maintenance she deserves and the peace of mind I’d like. I love her to death; she’ll be sticking around, though, don’t you worry.

One Year in Utah

Leaving Colorado, knowing I’d outgrown the life I’d built and loved, was one of the most bitter decisions I’ve endured. Through that bitterness I discovered my biggest blessing, one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I moved to Utah, convinced I’d be out of there by the time my lease was up six months after that, in May. By April I’d found my home.
I’d never been one for roots. I liked living in a van. I liked constant travel. I loved not being tied down. I don’t know what changed, but I’ve got chickens now :)

Thank you, Utah. Thank you to all of the decisions that led me here. It was an answer to prayers I didn’t know I’d sent up.

Keep it secret, keep it safe

Man, I love fly fishing! What used to be a hobby I’d do to hangout with my brother, is now something I do independently. I still cherish the times my brother is out west; I still have much to learn.

Happy Solstice !

As summer makes way for winter, I am reflecting. Summer cradled me and provided warmth and love and travel and so much growth, and my life is beautiful because of it. It is a privilege to change alongside the seasons. Hoping winter brings more yet.
