we are excited to announce the next Braided Sound (27th) is going to be held @timespacela on March 20th, 2026.

Braided Sound is a series combining a site-specific improvisational ensemble with a painted graphic score, curated and performed by @absentwarrior

Jesse will be joined by:
butoh dancer @crystaljiko
modular synth percussionist @omniscuro
cellist @topu_lyo

Topu will start the night out with a solo acoustic cello set and then the ensemble will play. The event is PWYC so nobody turned away due to financial strain. Show will start at 7:30! by @braidedsound

Wednesday, November 12th 🌿@sanaya_ardeshir (@sandunesmusic) performs @2220arts as part of the @braidedsound graphic score ensemble! Mumbai–LA producer, composer, and sound artist Sanaya Ardeshir is described as one of India’s leading electronic voices. Her work draws from cultural, ancestral, and ecological narratives, integrating studio and stage into visionary performances. Sanaya’s been praised by Rolling Stone, The Guardian, and The Wire, and performed at London’s Barbican Centre and festivals like Bahi Dora, Les Escales, Lollapalooza, and Roskilde.

Sanaya will perform alongside Jesse Perlstein, Patrick Shiroishi, AshTreJinkins, and Jason Adams. Additional sets from AshTreJinkins (solo) and Ears to the Ground.

This Wednesday, November 12th - cellist & Late Breakfast founder Jason Adams (@soundsbyjason) joins an ensemble of Patrick Shiroishi, Sanaya Ardeshir, Jesse Perlstein, and AshTreJinkins at @2220arts, performing a graphic score by @braidedsound.
Jason Adams combines the expressivity of the cello with an electronic musician’s focus on space, timbre, and texture. Whether performing in his solo project @_rumori, the improv ensemble Danketsu 10, or other groups, his playing draws on realtime interaction between electronic composition systems, extended performance techniques, and traditional musicianship.

AshTreJinkins is a Compton-based producer and DJ. Known for his involvement with the Low End Theory community, his work now takes on a new role in the world of uptempo electronic music, ranging from low end hip-hop to techno and left-field deep house. by @braidedsound

Wednesday, November 12th 🪢 we can’t wait for @patrickshiroishi to perform @2220arts as part of the @braidedsound graphic score ensemble. An LA-based multi-instrumentalist and composer, Patrick Shiroishi is best known for his extensive saxophone and improvisational work. He’s performed at the MOCA, the Met, and the Natural History Museum, and toured internationally with The Armed, Wild Up, and Upsilon Acrux.

He’ll perform alongside Jesse Perlstein, Sanaya Ardeshir, AshTreJinkins, and Jason Adams. Additional sets from AshTreJinkins (solo) and Ears to the Ground.

Next Wednesday, November 12th at @2220arts - we’re thrilled to welcome Jesse Perlstein (@absentwarrior) as part of the @braidedsound graphic score ensemble. Beyond acting as founder and painter of braided sound, Jesse Perlstein also performs in neo-classical trio Sontag Shogun as well as the improv techno outfit AxOxH. His use of harmonized vocals, field recordings, and manipulated cassettes meld into transportive rhythms and cathartic swells of sound.
He will be joined in the ensemble by Patrick Shiroishi, Sanaya Ardeshir, AshTreJinkins, and Jason Adams.

Patrick Shiroishi is a Japanese-American multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Los Angeles who is perhaps best known for his extensive and incredibly intense work with the saxophone. Over the last decade he has established himself as one of the premier improvising musicians in Los Angeles, playing solo and in numerous collaborative projects. Shiroishi may well be considered a foundational player in the city’s vast musical expanse. He has presented work and performed at the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Natural History Museum, the International Museum of Surgical Sciences and has toured around the world in various solo and band configurations including The Armed, contemporary classical ensemble Wild Up and Upsilon Acrux. by @braidedsound

Sanaya Ardeshir is a producer/composer and sound artist from Mumbai/LA. She has been described as one of India’s leading electronic music artists (Resident Advisor).
Ardeshir’s work is inspired by themes of interdependence within ecosystems. She
draws from cultural narratives, ancestry, and ecology while integrating the worlds of studio and stage. Her work has garnered praise from Rolling Stone, The Guardian, and The Wire, and she has performed at London’s Barbican Centre, as well as at festivals
like Bahi Dora, Les Escales, Lollapalooza, and Roskilde. She has recently been awarded the Matt Marks Impact Award to compose a piece for Alarm Will Sound. by @braidedsound
